- NEAR is testing a support zone where a key moving average and a Fibonacci level meet.
- Bitwise’s spot NEAR ETF has recorded net inflows in every week since launch.
- The fund already holds a meaningful slice of NEAR’s circulating supply.
- Weekly inflows are shrinking, and the fund’s average entry sits above the current price.
NEAR price is holding around $4.59 on Sunday after another dip into the $4.30 support zone found buyers, while Bitwise’s spot NEAR ETF (NRR) closed its fourth straight week of net inflows with roughly $5.2 million added between October 19 and 23. That floor matters more than usual right now, because the fund’s own creations were priced higher on average and the latest weekly inflow is the smallest since NRR began trading on September 29.
NEAR has spent the past two weeks giving back part of its late-summer rally, and the pullback has now reached the level that decides whether the uptrend stays intact. After climbing from the $1.538 low in mid-August to a $6.00 peak on October 11, a gain of almost 290%, the token has slipped into a range between the 0.236 Fibonacci retracement at $4.947 and the 0.382 level at $4.296.
$4.30 has absorbed two sell-offs

The lower edge of that range carries more weight than a single Fib line would suggest, because the 50-day EMA, currently at $4.286, runs straight through it. Sellers pushed NEAR into this zone on October 8 and again on October 24, and both candles closed well above their wicks, a sign of buyers stepping in around $4.30. Today’s session follows the same pattern, with price dipping to $4.351 before recovering to $4.59, up about 2% at the time of writing.
Every bounce stalls below $5.40
Each recovery since the October 11 spike has run out of steam earlier, with the October 15 and October 21 highs both fading around $5.35 to $5.40, while the 0.236 level at $4.947 has turned into a ceiling for daily closes. Volume has been shrinking throughout the consolidation, far below the heavy buying of the September 17 to 23 breakout, so neither side has shown real conviction yet. Momentum leans slightly bearish, with the 14-day RSI at 47.57, below the neutral 50 mark and under its signal line at 52.69, the softest reading since the rally began in August.
NRR inflows drop from $58M to $5.2M a week
NRR, the first US-listed spot product holding NEAR, reached NYSE Arca after a filing process that began on May 6, 2025 and went through six amendments. Data from an independent ETF flow tracker shows net inflows in each of its four trading weeks, about $88.3 million in total by October 23, but the weekly pace has fallen from roughly $58 million in the partial launch week to around $5.2 million. The latest week also included a net redemption of about $2.54 million on October 20, so four positive weeks did not mean four weeks without selling.
| Trading week | Net inflow | Pace |
|---|---|---|
| Sep 29 – Oct 2 | ~$58.0M | |
| Oct 5 – Oct 9 | ~$13.3M | |
| Oct 12 – Oct 16 | $11.7M | |
| Oct 19 – Oct 23 | ~$5.2M | |
| Total since launch | $88.3M | Through Oct 23 |

Bitwise’s own disclosure for October 22 puts the trust’s holdings at 17,564,100 NEAR worth $83.43 million, or about 5.23 NEAR for each of the 3.36 million shares outstanding. Measured against circulating supply, that came to roughly 1.32% of all NEAR on October 21, about one token in every 76.

Why $5.2M a week barely moves NEAR
Under the trust’s prospectus, new shares are created in baskets of 10,000, and the NEAR backing them has to be acquired, so every net inflow represents real spot demand, though on a modest scale. Roughly $5.2 million over five trading days is small next to Binance’s NEAR/USDT pair alone, which had turned over 10.47 million NEAR, close to $48 million, by Sunday afternoon UTC.
Cost basis adds pressure from the other side. The flow tracker estimates the NEAR bought for fund creations cost about $5.01 on average, leaving that position roughly 8% under water at $4.59, right below the $5 area where daily closes keep failing. The figure comes from a model rather than shareholder records, yet it fits a market where buyers from the October range have had no chance to exit near breakeven.
Staking pulls in the opposite direction. Bitwise stakes all of the trust’s NEAR, so the fund’s token balance can grow without new investor money, although the rates float with network conditions and staking exposes the fund to slashing (a penalty that removes part of a validator’s stake for misbehavior) and to delays when tokens must be unstaked to meet redemptions.
Lose $4.29 and $3.77 comes next
As long as NEAR closes above $4.29, the structure still reads as a pause inside a larger uptrend, with the 200-day EMA far below at $2.825 and the 50-day EMA still rising. A daily close back above $4.95 would open the way to $5.35-$5.40, and only a break of that zone would bring the $6.00 high back into play.
A decisive close below the EMA 50 and Fib confluence would change the picture, since the chart offers little support until the 0.5 retracement at $3.769. Below that, the 0.618 level at $3.242 lines up with the base of the mid-September breakout candles, where buyers would most likely try to defend the broader trend. The next weekly NRR print adds a second test, because redemption days like October 20 clustering just as price breaks $4.29 would hit NEAR from both the fund and the spot market at once.
SVRN holds three times what NRR does
Bitwise is not the largest institutional holder of the token. The NEAR is Everywhere tracker reported that SVRN Inc. held about 55.4 million NEAR on September 29, roughly 4.23% of circulating supply at the time and more than three times NRR’s current balance. Anyone weighing NRR as a route into NEAR should also note that, despite the ETF label, it is an exchange-traded product not registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, and Bitwise warns that holders do not get the protections that come with conventionally registered funds.
