NVIDIA and Foxconn Scale AI-Driven Healthcare in Taiwan

NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Foxconn are spearheading a groundbreaking transformation of Taiwan’s healthcare sector through the deployment of AI-powered agents and robotics as part of the $1.5 billion “Healthy Taiwan” initiative. This effort, announced at NVIDIA GTC Taipei, aims to address the challenges of an aging population, clinician shortages, and rising healthcare costs by creating AI-native health systems.

Foxconn’s CoDoctor AI platform, powered by NVIDIA’s full-stack AI solutions, is central to this initiative. The system integrates specialized AI agents designed for specific medical tasks, such as cardiovascular care, oncology, and real-time colonoscopy diagnostics. For example, the Corovia AI agent reduces a two-hour coronary artery reconstruction process to just one minute, significantly enhancing diagnostic efficiency. These AI systems are already operational across Taiwan’s leading medical centers, handling over 14 million patient encounters annually.

On the robotics front, Foxconn’s Nurabot, a nursing collaborative robot powered by NVIDIA’s physical AI stack, has moved beyond pilot testing into broader deployment. Nurabot assists with logistics and patient care coordination, freeing nurses to focus on direct patient interaction. Similarly, the Scrub Bot enhances surgical procedures by responding to surgeons’ commands in real time. NVIDIA’s Omniverse-powered digital twins are used to simulate and validate these robotic systems in virtual replicas of hospital environments, cutting deployment times by 40% and achieving 98% navigation accuracy.

The collaboration builds on a multi-year strategic partnership between NVIDIA and Foxconn, which has included the development of AI factories and large-scale AI infrastructure in Taiwan. In 2025, the companies announced a supercomputer project featuring 10,000 NVIDIA GPUs to support AI manufacturing and healthcare applications. This latest healthcare push highlights the alliance’s expanding influence in the medical AI space.

“The next era of healthcare is being powered by agentic AI — teams of digital and physical AI agents working alongside clinicians,” said Kimberly Powell, vice president of healthcare at NVIDIA. Taiwan’s Minister of Health and Welfare, Dr. Chung-Liang Shih, echoed this sentiment, calling “Healthy Taiwan” a global model for AI-driven healthcare systems.

For NVIDIA, this initiative underscores its growing dominance in the AI sector, with its market cap recently surpassing $5 trillion. While NVIDIA shares are trading at $211.14 as of May 30, 2026, the company’s expanding footprint in high-growth verticals like healthcare positions it as a critical player in the AI revolution. Investors will be watching for further updates on the deployment of these technologies and their adoption in other regions.

As Taiwan’s healthcare system transforms into a case study for AI-driven care, the NVIDIA-Foxconn partnership could serve as a blueprint for scaling AI in healthcare worldwide. Stay tuned for more announcements from NVIDIA GTC Taipei, where CEO Jensen Huang is expected to unveil additional breakthroughs in AI infrastructure.
