In the current market environment, every sell-off may look like healthy profit-taking.
The reason is simple: Market momentum has turned sharply in favor of the bulls at the end of August, with even memecoins that had been trading near multi-month lows climbing by double digits.
Official Trump, for its part, jumped 43%, marking its first monthly gain since October 2025.
Given this background, it is possible that the sell-off by TRUMP’s team would be yet another wave of profit-taking. Besides, it is a valuable opportunity for FOMO buyers to buy in at higher prices and drive the price of TRUMP even higher.
That makes the $26 million worth of TRUMP transferred to BitGo potentially bullish.

Notably, the timing of the move can’t be overlooked.
Technically, it’s worth noting that TRUMP closed August with its highest wick at $3. However, after an intraday pullback of more than 2%, the memecoin slipped back toward $2.30, indicating a clear rejection at the $2.50 level.
That means the $26 million TRUMP transfer occurred right around the time of this rejection, which makes the timing of the move difficult to ignore.
If this was just healthy profit-taking, then the price should have shown a stronger bullish reaction. Instead, TRUMP dropped more than 2% and got rejected, despite the RSI still being deep in oversold territory.
In a stronger setup, FOMO buyers could have jumped in and swallowed the selling pressure. This begs the question: Was the $26 million transfer a “strategic” exit rather than a simple profit-taking move?
TRUMP faces pressure from new Solana tokens
For a speculative asset, maintaining HODL sentiment is always a key test.
This is especially the case for Official Trump [TRUMP]. According to CoinMarketCap data, the memecoin market is currently saturated with millions of speculative assets, making competition cutthroat.
With the likes of Dogecoin [DOGE] still struggling to regain $1, it is safe to say that a memecoin’s journey to prominence is never easy.
To make matters worse, Solana is adding even more competition. As the chart below indicates, over 313k tokens were created on Solana launchpads in the last week alone.
This marked the highest weekly token creation since the peak following the launch of the TRUMP memecoin.

In this regard, the recent $26 million move by TRUMP’s team would be adding one more layer of pressure.
Combined with the lack of FOMO after the sell-off, TRUMP’s massively oversold RSI, its rejection of the $2.50, and the rising competition on Solana make the setup less bullish than it initially appeared.
The $26 million transfer, hence, would be more than just routine profit-taking and would signal a strategic exit.
