OSL Group has opened retail XRP trading in Hong Kong, becoming the first Securities and Futures Commission-licensed exchange in the city to offer the token to everyday investors.
The launch began on July 29 through OSL Digital Securities, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed OSL Group. The move expands XRP access beyond professional investors, who first received support on the platform in December 2025.
OSL Opens Retail XRP Trading in Hong Kong
OSL HK now supports retail XRP trading through Flash Trade XRP/USD. The platform also added over-the-counter trading pairs for XRP/USD and XRP/HKD, giving users access through dollar and Hong Kong dollar markets.
Deposits and withdrawals are supported directly through the XRP Ledger network. The HKD pair creates a local fiat on-ramp for Hong Kong residents using a regulated virtual asset trading platform.
XRP now joins Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana among the few tokens available for retail trading on OSL. The addition broadens Hong Kong’s approved digital asset menu under its licensed exchange framework.
OSL Group trades on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under ticker 863. The company holds SFC licenses across Type 1, Type 4, Type 7, and Type 9 categories.
Licensed Platform Expands Beyond Professional Investors
OSL first secured Type 1 and Type 7 licenses on December 15, 2020. That made it Hong Kong’s first licensed virtual asset trading platform.
The company received approval to serve retail investors in August 2023. HashKey also received similar approval during the same period, creating competition between the city’s licensed crypto venues.
OSL’s retail XRP launch extends access beyond institutional and high-net-worth clients. Before the update, XRP trading on the platform was limited to professional investors through pairs such as XRP/HKD, XRP/USD, and XRP/USDT.
The platform also carries AMLO registration and $1 billion in client asset insurance. These safeguards form part of the licensed exchange structure available to Hong Kong investors.
Hong Kong’s SFC licensing regime for virtual asset trading platforms began in 2023. Since then, the list of tokens approved for retail trading has expanded in a measured way.
XRP Access Grows as Asia Builds Regulated Rails
The XRP listing comes as Asia continues building regulated access to digital assets. Hong Kong’s framework gives approved platforms a route to offer retail crypto trading under supervision.
The development also arrives while U.S. CLARITY Act talks continue in Congress. Market participants are watching whether the bill can create clearer rules for digital asset market structure.
XRP has drawn fresh attention from institutional and retail markets this year. XRP spot ETFs have recorded an eight-week inflow streak, reaching $1.49 billion in cumulative inflows.
Activity on the XRP Ledger has also grown through tokenized real-world assets. Evernorth data showed XRPL-based RWAs rising from about $150 million a year ago to more than $4 billion.
Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin also expanded during the first quarter of 2026. Messari data showed RLUSD supply increased by 45% during that period.
