Pi Network has set July 22 as the completion deadline for version 25 after several weeks without a major update. The upgrade will target network stability, reliability, and more efficient privacy-preserving smart contracts. Meanwhile, PI coin remains under heavy pressure after repeated losses and new record lows.

Version 25 Gets a Firm Completion Date

The Pi Network Core Team confirmed that version 25 should reach completion by July 22. The announcement ended six weeks without clear guidance on the upgrade schedule. Developers said the release will improve network stability and reliability.

The update will also support new capabilities for “more efficient, privacy-preserving smart contracts.” That objective extends Pi Network’s earlier work on smart contract infrastructure. However, the team did not provide additional technical details about the planned features.

Pi Network has introduced several protocol versions since the middle of the first quarter. Version 19.6 started the recent update cycle, while version 20.2 established key smart contract foundations. Later releases continued the network’s broader technical development.

Upgrade Pace Slowed During the Second Quarter

The development schedule moved quickly during the early stages of the upgrade cycle. However, the pace slowed during the second quarter as fewer major releases reached completion. The Core Team still moved the network through versions 22 and 23 in May.

Version 24 became the current network release after its deployment in early June. Pi Network completed that rollout after a minor delay in the original schedule. Since then, users received limited information about the next planned upgrade.

The July 22 deadline now gives the community a clear timetable for version 25. It also marks the next step in Pi Network’s ongoing effort to strengthen its technical framework. The team has not announced whether further upgrades will follow immediately afterward.

PI Price Falls Despite Brief Rebound

PI has faced sharp volatility while the Pi Network team prepared the latest network release. The token recently fell below the important $0.10 level as selling pressure increased. Bears then pushed the price toward consecutive record lows.

PI reached another all-time low slightly above $0.07 two days ago. The level initially supported a strong rebound, and the token later climbed above $0.085. However, sellers quickly regained control and reversed much of that advance.

The token fell about 8% during the latest 24-hour period and traded below $0.074. Pi Network’s native asset also lost more than 35% during the past two weeks. Pi Network will now focus on completing version 25 by July 22 amid continued price weakness.
