It feels like it is almost time for pop singer Pink to release a new album. Her last full-length, her ninth set titled Trustfall, arrived in early 2023. Since then, she has reissued that project with multiple new singles and focused on other ventures in the entertainment space, but otherwise, things have been fairly quiet for Pink on the music front.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Pink scores a new worldwide hit with one of her most familiar tunes. The return of a more than decade-old track – and one of the biggest smashes of her career – helps Pink improve her relatively small number of wins on a ranking that was introduced well into her tenure as a superstar.
“Just Give Me a Reason” Debuts on the Billboard Global 200
“Just Give Me a Reason” debuts on the Billboard Global 200 this week. The collaboration, which arrives at No. 160, features Nate Ruess, who is primarily known as the lead singer of the now-defunct band Fun. That outfit, which won the Grammy for Best New Artist, is known for singles like “We Are Young” with Janelle Monáe and “Some Nights,” among others. After hitting it big, Fun went on hiatus, with Ruess pursuing a solo career and Jack Antonoff forming Bleachers while also becoming one of the most in-demand songwriters and producers in the business.
Pink’s Smash Returns to Another Billboard List
At the same time that “Just Give Me a Reason” debuts on the Billboard Global 200, it returns to the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The two tallies are built using sales and streaming activity from around the world, though the latter completely ignores all consumption originating in the United States. “Just Give Me a Reason” appears on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. for only the second time after debuting in August 2024, and it reaches a new peak of No. 142 as it rebounds.
Pink Has Scored Six Hits on Both Global Charts
Pink has now racked up six career hits on both of Billboard’s worldwide rankings. “Just Give Me a Reason” currently stands as her lowest-peaking placement on the Billboard Global 200, stealing that distinction from another collaboration. “Anywhere Away from Here” with U.K. superstar Rag’n’Bone Man remains her worst performer so far.
Even as it ascends to a new high on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., “Just Give Me a Reason” cannot best “One Too Many,” Pink’s duet with country superstar Keith Urban. That song spent one week on the ranking at No. 123 in October 2020, when the worldwide tallies were still brand new.
Pink Scores Her First New Billboard Global 200 Hit in Years
“Just Give Me a Reason” earns Pink her first new hit on the Billboard Global 200 in years. She last debuted a tune on the roster in February 2023, when “Trustfall,” the title track from her most recent album, arrived. That single eventually climbed as high as No. 70, but things have been silent for the superstar on the worldwide ranking ever since.
“Just Give Me a Reason” Was a No. 1 Smash in America
Pink released “Just Give Me a Reason” as a single from her 2012 album The Truth About Love, and the track would go on to become one of the biggest hits of her career in America. “Just Give Me a Reason” rocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned Grammy nominations for both Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, though it did not win either prize.
