On Tuesday, it was announced that Pump.fun removed the “Agent Mode” launch option for the creation of new tokens, following multiple requests from its trading community. Alon Cohen, co-founder of the protocol, announced that the Tokenized Agent feature is deprecated, effective immediately, marking the beginning of a strategy aimed at weeding out tools that do not add enough real value to users within the on-chain ecosystem.

The decision comes in response to ongoing market confusion, griefing practices, and unnecessary, destructive competition between projects that ultimately disrupted the momentum of emerging narratives. Although the platform initially designed this mode to bootstrap autonomous agents with automated buyback and burn mechanics, the poor trading experience forced an immediate adjustment, leaving unaffected only the tokens that had already enabled the feature beforehand.

The development team clarified that they remain optimistic about the tokenized agents sector, suggesting that the feature could return in the future under a completely different infrastructure separate from the network’s token launch options.
