Rihanna’s Hits-Packed Album Reaches A Chart Milestone

For much of her career, Rihanna was thought of more as a singles artist than one who focused on albums. That is not to say that her full-lengths were not good, but rather that she succeeded so fantastically on Billboard’s songs rankings – especially the Billboard Hot 100 – that the praise and attention more often than not went to the tunes, not the projects themselves.

In the decade-plus since she released her most recent album, Anti, fans have continued to buy and stream not only Rihanna’s songs, but several of her full-lengths as well. Multiple releases by the Grammy winner typically appear on rankings in the United States, and this frame, one of her most successful studio efforts reaches a milestone she has only experienced once before in her career.

Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad Reaches 250 Weeks on the Billboard 200

Good Girl Gone Bad celebrates 250 weeks on the Billboard 200 as of this frame. The tally, published each week by Billboard, measures the most-consumed albums and EPs in the United States using a methodology that incorporates both sales and streaming activity.

As it reaches that chart milestone, Good Girl Gone Bad rockets more than 20 spaces north. This frame, Rihanna’s blockbuster jumps from No. 88 to No. 63.

Rihanna Has Two Albums With 250 Weeks on the Billboard 200

Good Girl Gone Bad becomes Rihanna’s second album to spend at least 250 weeks on the Billboard 200. It trails Anti by years, as her most recent full-length is now up to 540 stints on the tally – a sum that increases again this frame.

Rihanna has placed 10 projects on the Billboard 200. Her run began more than 20 years ago in September 2005 with Music of the Sun, which peaked at No. 10. Only two of her 10 charting releases have failed to crack the highest tier, and while not all of them have made it to triple-digit frames, another three have managed to hold on for at least a year. Unapologetic, Loud and Talk That Talk spent 80, 78 and 57 weeks on the roster, respectively.

Good Girl Gone Bad Climbs on Two More Charts

Good Girl Gone Bad appears on three Billboard rankings this week in addition to the Billboard 200. Rihanna’s blockbuster returns to the Top Streaming Albums chart at No. 50, landing in last place on the tally.

At the same time, the project gains ground on both the Top R&B Albums and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Good Girl Gone Bad rises to Nos. 6 and 15 on those genre-focused rankings, respectively.

Rihanna’s Anti Remains a Top 10 Hit

Anti appears on three of the same four charts as Good Girl Gone Bad, missing only the Top Streaming Albums tally. The project remains a top 10 win on the Top R&B Albums chart, where it holds at No. 9.

Rihanna’s most recent studio album – which turned 10 earlier this year – moves in the opposite direction on the other pair of rankings. Anti declines on both the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts this week.
