Ripple is expanding its institutional digital-asset infrastructure in Asia Pacific through a new partnership with SettleMint that combines custody with tokenized-asset issuance and management.

The companies announced Sept. 1 that Ripple Custody will integrate with SettleMint’s Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform, or DALP, allowing regulated financial institutions to issue, custody and manage digital assets through a more unified infrastructure stack.

The development confirms an earlier post from XRP researcher BankXRP, which highlighted the integration as another step in Ripple’s institutional expansion.

Ripple Targets Institutional Tokenization

SettleMint’s DALP is designed to manage the lifecycle of tokenized assets, including issuance, compliance, settlement and servicing, while Ripple Custody provides the secure custody and governance layer.

Together, the platforms aim to reduce the need for banks to operate separate systems for tokenization, custody and transaction controls.

The partnership fits Ripple’s broader push into institutional infrastructure, alongside its growing activity in custody, stablecoins, payments and tokenized assets.

Related Coinpaper coverage has explored how Ripple Custody is becoming institutional infrastructure and how tokenization is becoming a larger part of the XRP Ledger ecosystem.

Asia Pacific Becomes a Key Market

The APAC focus is significant because both companies already have an institutional presence in the region.

Ripple Custody is used by South Korea-based BDACS for regulated digital-asset services, while SettleMint operates in markets including Singapore and Japan.

That gives the partnership a clearer commercial angle than a simple blockchain pilot. Ripple and SettleMint are positioning the combined platform as infrastructure financial institutions can use as tokenized assets move closer to production.

XRP Rises as Ripple Expands Institutional Reach

XRP was trading near $1.39 around the announcement, up roughly 2% over the previous 24 hours.

The move gives the partnership a modest market-reaction angle, although there is no evidence that the SettleMint announcement alone caused XRP’s gains.

Ripple’s broader institutional momentum has also been supported by developments around XRP ETFs, custody and tokenization.

Coinpaper has recently covered institutional lending on XRPL and strong XRP ETF inflows.

Importantly, the partnership does not mean assets issued through SettleMint will automatically use XRP or the XRP Ledger.

What it does show is Ripple continuing to place its technology deeper inside the infrastructure used by financial institutions entering tokenized markets.
