What to know:
- Ripple minted 10 million RLUSD on XRPL, while its intended market use remains unknown.
- Large XRP wallets accumulated 380 million tokens as XRP traded close to the $1 level.
- On-chain records show no direct link between the RLUSD mint and large XRP whale buying.

Ripple minted 10 million RLUSD on the XRP Ledger on Aug. 10. Large XRP wallets also added more than 380 million tokens over seven days. Available data show no direct connection between the two events.
XRPScan recorded the issuance on the public ledger. The transaction created another 10 million RLUSD in Ripple’s XRP Ledger treasury account, but it does not prove that the tokens entered wider circulation.
How Ripple Mint Supports Institutional RLUSD Operations
Ripple started offering Ripple Mint to its institutional clients from July 23. The platform allows eligible users to mint, redeem, bridge, and manage RLUSD via a web dashboard or API.

According to Ripple, the offering is suitable for payment, trading, and treasury activities. Nonetheless, Ripple hasn’t connected the Aug. 10 issuance of RLUSD to any particular customer action.
There is no way the ledger entry could be used to describe the mint as a $10 million capital infusion for XRP. RLUSD may be issued and sent independently of XRP buying.
RWA.xyz data placed RLUSD’s global market capitalization at about $1.53 billion on Aug. 10, 2026. That figure remained below the $1.7 billion level reported by Ripple in June.
RLUSD had also declined from a late-May peak of nearly $1.9 billion. Earlier token burns reduced its supply by around 20% from that high.
Standard Custody & Trust Company issues RLUSD. The Ripple subsidiary operates as a limited-purpose trust company supervised by the New York Department of Financial Services.
Ripple states that RLUSD is backed by U.S. dollars and other cash equivalents. Its reserves remain in segregated accounts.
New York regulators list RLUSD among stablecoins approved for issuance in the state. Eligible Ripple users can redeem each token for one U.S. dollar, subject to the company’s terms.
XRP Whale Balances Rise Near $1
Analyst Ali Martinez pointed out Santiment figures saying that large holders added more than 380 million XRP in the previous week. The addition was made when the price of XRP was hovering around $1.
The amount is larger compared to the 70 million XRP that whales managed to accumulate in one week in July.
Changes in wallet holding data do not necessarily indicate what the intentions of the holders were. There is also no indication that there was any coordinated purchase made to support the $1 price level.
According to Martinez, the increase is a good sign of conviction. This comment represents an opinion of the analyst and not the conclusion based on on-chain records.
XRP is trading around $1.03 on Aug. 10, down by 0.23% over the past day and by 2.9% over the past seven days. The token traded in the range of about $1.03 and $1.05 during the day. There were no clear signs of a breakout despite the increase in the holdings of large wallets.
The RLUSD mint and XRP accumulation remain separate developments within the wider Ripple ecosystem. Public records confirm both events, but neither establishes a direct cause for XRP’s price direction.
