XRP is trading around $1.406 on Oct. 12, down slightly after a modest pullback from the late-September rebound. The daily candle opened near $1.4097, reached a high of about $1.4195 and dipped to $1.3989 before settling a little lower.

Price remains below the short-term recovery highs seen earlier this month. XRP previously pushed into the $1.50-$1.60 range before slipping back toward $1.40.

Chart Analysis

The larger rebound from the August low near $1.00 is still visible on the daily chart. However, XRP has dipped back under the blue uptrend line that had supported the recovery, which suggests the short-term structure has weakened.

Momentum indicators point the same way. The RSI is at 45.05, below neutral, and the MACD line sits below its signal line with a negative histogram. The next support zone is $1.29-$1.31, with a broader band near $1.18-$1.25 below it. On the upside, XRP needs to reclaim the trendline and $1.50 before targeting resistance at $1.55-$1.67. The level to watch next is $1.40, which is acting as immediate support.

Analyst “Ripple” outlooks on social media are more upbeat. A post on X says Ripple is poised to rebound from a broken descending channel on the daily timeframe, with buyers confirming the retest. The post also says XRP is becoming the backbone of real-world asset tokenization. It lists targets of $1.70, $2.20, $2.70 and $3.65 after a confirmed bounce.

ETF Flows and Institutional News

ETF flows remain one of the more supportive parts of the XRP story. According to ByKaranteli’s tracker, U.S. spot XRP ETFs recorded flat net flows on Oct. 9. They still posted a 5-day net inflow of about $11.3 million.

The same tracker shows total net assets of about $1.57 billion. Cumulative net inflows are roughly $1.80 billion since launch.

A separate tracker from XRP Insights shows +7.90 million XRP of net inflows for the Oct. 5-9 week, worth about $11.11 million. Combined holdings ended the week near 1.19 billion XRP, including exposure held in Bitwise’s broader crypto index fund.

On Oct. 6, Ripple said it had deepened its relationship with Brevan Howard. The press release said the partnership expands Ripple’s prime brokerage and financing reach through Ripple Prime.

Reuters reported on Oct. 5 that the CFTC proposed a new federal oversight framework for crypto trading platforms offering leveraged or margined products. The proposal is not specific to XRP.

Reuters also reported that the U.S. dollar remains near an 18-month high. Markets are focused on this week’s inflation data and the possibility of more Fed tightening later this year.

As of Oct. 12, XRP trades near $1.40, with the daily chart showing softer momentum and ETF data still showing weekly inflows.
