TLDR
- XRP trades at $1.52, up about 1% in 24 hours, holding support near $1.50.
- 24-hour trading volume hit roughly $1.51 billion, up 33.70% from the prior day.
- Ripple released 1 billion XRP from escrow on October 1, worth about $1.49 billion.
- A Seoul event featured Ripple alongside four Korean financial institutions, including Woori Bank and KBank.
- Binance open interest on XRP climbed to $516.6 million, still below October 2025 levels.
XRP is trading at $1.52 as of October 5, up roughly 1% over the past day. The token has held near the $1.50 level for several sessions without a clear move in either direction.

Trading volume rose sharply in the same period. CoinGecko data shows 24-hour volume near $1.51 billion, up 33.70% from the day before.
Higher volume without a price breakout can point to more trader interest. It does not confirm which direction the price will move next.
The support zone sits between $1.47 and $1.50. Traders are watching whether that range holds or breaks down toward $1.20.
Analyst Ali Charts shared a chart-based update on X, noting that whale wallets have stayed largely inactive over the past week. XRP holdings among large wallets remain steady near 3.9 billion tokens. The analyst pointed out that XRP is consolidating inside a triangle pattern as price nears the apex, often a sign that a larger move is close. A four-hour candle close above $1.53 could open a path toward $1.62, according to the post.
XRP INCHES CLOSER TO A BIG MOVE
Whales have remained relatively sidelined over the past week, with no significant change in their $XRP holdings.
Meanwhile, XRP continues to consolidate inside a triangle. As price moves closer to the apex, a bigger move could be approaching.

Escrow Release and Institutional Event
Ripple released 1 billion XRP from escrow on October 1. At the time, the tokens were worth about $1.49 billion.
This release follows Ripple’s regular monthly schedule. It does not confirm whether the tokens were sold or how it affected circulating supply.
Separately, Ripple took part in a Seoul event alongside four Korean financial institutions. Woori Bank, KBank and Kyobo Securities were named, with the fourth reported as either Jeonbuk Bank or Kakao Bank.
Ripple also introduced XRP Asia, a new regional initiative. The event signals institutional interest in Ripple’s ecosystem but is not proof of banks buying or moving XRP tokens.
Longer-Term Chart Targets and Open Interest
Some analysts are looking further out. Crypto analyst Moustache pointed to a multi-year descending broadening wedge pattern on XRP’s weekly chart, a structure that has formed over almost two years. A move to $10 from current prices would mark a gain of nearly 560%.

Are there any $XRP holders out there?🫡
-XRP has been forming a right-angled descending broadening wedge for nearly 2 years.

Not everyone expects a fast breakout. One market observer puts the odds of an upward move at 65% to 70%, with XRP’s RSI still below 50.
Veteran trader Peter Brandt has also pointed to a developing cup-and-handle pattern on the chart, a setup often linked to further upside.

Derivatives data adds some caution to the picture. CryptoQuant figures show XRP open interest on Binance has climbed to $516.6 million. That is up from 2026 lows of $350 to $400 million but still well below the $1.3 billion recorded in October 2025.
Price has recovered faster than open interest has. Leveraged traders have not yet matched last year’s level of activity in the market.
