The founder of Strategy Inc., Michael Saylor, published a tweet, “We found room for more orange,” illustrating the intention to continue accumulating the asset with a new purchase chart in which each transaction is marked with an orange marker. This media signal coincided with an update to the corporate dashboard: by mid-October 2026, the company controls 848,250 BTC, equivalent to 4.04% of the total global supply.

The current market value of these reserves has reached $69.45 billion at an average purchase price of $75,444 per coin, which puts Strategy Inc.’s net unrealized profit at 8.15% and the portfolio’s year-to-date growth at 26.1%.

What is actually happening with the company’s money

Despite Saylor’s stated readiness to expand the balance sheet, the company’s fresh operating reports for October show a parallel change in its spending structure. Direct Bitcoin purchases have fallen to an annual low: over the reporting week, the company acquired just 250 BTC (about $21.5 million).

This decline is directly linked to the reallocation of capital within the internal debt market, where Strategy Inc. directed $192.4 million to buy back its own Series STRC preferred shares. Because their yield jumped to 12.31%, management considered reducing the future dividend burden a higher priority than buying the crypto asset at current price levels.

At the same time, to maintain operational stability, the company keeps a $5.5 billion safety cushion in dollar instruments.

The need for delicate liquidity maneuvering is sharpened by infrastructure challenges, against the backdrop of which Saylor’s post was published. MSCI, the global index provider, has updated its selection criteria, as a result of which Strategy Inc. faces exclusion from global investment benchmarks, as the value of the Bitcoins on its balance sheet has completely eclipsed the company’s core software business.

MSCI’s official decision is expected on November 11, 2026, and JPMorgan analysts already estimate the potential forced outflow of passive-fund capital from MSTR shares at $2.8 billion. Investors reacted to this risk with a preemptive sell-off: the company’s shares fell 9.56% to $136.83. Current quotes already price in a discount to net asset value, which caused the basic MNAV ratio to slip to 0.83x.

Under these conditions, Strategy Inc. retains its status as the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, but the pace of filling the “orange vault” is now directly limited by debt obligations and the November risks from MSCI.
