The launch of the independent structure Dogecoin Labs has provoked a big wave of attention within the crypto industry. The coin’s official account on X has already supported the large-scale merger of product teams, reinforcing the news with the iconic “Shibes” motto and bringing the event to the top of social media trends.

Until now, Dogecoin has developed chaotically: wallets, smart contracts, and trading gateways were handled by isolated groups of enthusiasts. The new structure, created in partnership with the non-profit Dogecoin Foundation, is designed to centralize these efforts.

Three ready-made products are coming under the control of Dogecoin Labs at once. DogeOS, an operating system that is currently introducing smart contracts to the network in a public testnet, will be responsible for the technical base. The audience will be provided by the MyDoge crypto wallet (version V3) with a base of more than 500,000 users. Commercial integration and QR payments for real businesses will be handled by the team behind the Such App service.

In addition, the investment platform House of Doge Inc. (NASDAQ: HODO) has transferred its personnel and intellectual property to the project. The goal is pragmatic: to turn DOGE from a purely speculative instrument into a fully fledged means of payment.

And how much does one DOGE cost now?

The spot market reacted to the changes inside the ecosystem with pointed calm. The coin is more likely feeling out a local bottom after a prolonged decline than preparing to soar. On Wednesday, the DOGE/USD rate froze at around $0.0820, showing a purely symbolic daily gain of 0.05%.

On the weekly chart, the dynamics are slightly more upbeat: a gain of 3.37% within the $0.079–$0.082 range. The external background nevertheless remains complicated: investors are still digesting the September closure of the DOGE ETF from Bitwise.

This reorganization is a direct attempt to protect Dogecoin from an outflow of institutional capital. DOGE-developing enthusiasts want to prove that the coin’s colossal retail reach can be converted into real business. Investors have so far taken a wait-and-see position and are watching what the first practical steps of the unified team will be.

No wonder the market refuses to price in positivity in advance. Dogecoin has been associated exclusively with speculative hype and random tweets for too long for investors to instantly believe in its corporate rebirth.

Until Dogecoin Labs shows real transaction volumes through its new trading gateways and stable operation of smart contracts on the mainnet, any loud slogans about the merger of teams will remain, for exchange charts, merely beautiful background noise.
