Solana (SOL) Hits 1.4 Million Tokenized Stock Holders in Historic Retail Surge

Today, the Solana network recorded a historic high: the number of addresses holding tokenized stocks soared to 1.4 million, according to Blockworks data. Fresh on-chain statistics, however, have revealed a deep structural split in the market. While retail investors, amid this unprecedented boom, are aggressively buying up Apple and Tesla shares, large players are in no hurry to take risks and are parking billions in stablecoins and U.S. Treasuries.

Back in June, the number of stockholders on Solana barely exceeded 500,000, but a powerful influx of users in recent weeks has made the blockchain the absolute leader in the RWA category. The reason for the boom is simple: round-the-clock access. Traditional Wall Street closes on Friday evening, but on the blockchain trading goes on nonstop: up to 65% of tokenized stock trading volume is now conducted outside the standard working hours of U.S. exchanges.

People are massively using digital versions of Nvidia (NVDAx), Apple, and Tesla shares, as well as stakes in SpaceX, as collateral in DeFi protocols, forcing classic securities to play by the aggressive rules of the crypto market.

A million people are there. But where are the billions?

Despite the impressive figure of 1.4 million wallets, the real financial weight of this retail segment is still modest. Capital within Solana is distributed unevenly:

  • Stablecoins: the network’s main safe, holding $14.6 billion.

  • U.S. Treasuries: a reliable instrument worth $1.5 billion.

  • Tokenized stocks: a modest $485.2 million.

While retail provides the blockchain with loud headlines, big capital is bypassing the stock market. Large players use the network exclusively as cheap transport for conservative instruments from Ondo and Securitize. In the global ranking of tokenized stock platforms (the entire market is valued at $3.42 billion), the bStocks platform ($1.2 billion, BNB Chain) leads, while the xStocks project, two-thirds of whose liquidity is tied to Solana, takes third place with a volume of $582 million.

At the same time, Solana’s main challenge now lies in the operational plane. Serving 1.4 million active addresses is demanding: the real stress test for the infrastructure will be the first mass processing of corporate actions (dividend payments, splits, and shareholder votes), which require hundreds of thousands of simultaneous transactions.

Issuers are trying to solve the problem with the new regulated Token-2022 standard, but only the first large payouts will show the real resilience of this solution.

While the RWA sector celebrates its victory, the network’s native token has ignored this triumph: the price of SOL remains squeezed in a $100–$107 corridor due to capital outflows from spot ETFs. It seems that while the ecosystem is building the rails of the finance of the future, exchange speculators simply haven’t noticed.
