UFC Paris made quite a splash. The card featured viral KOs, a major championship announcement associated with the UFC 332 card in Salt Lake City and a new star has seemingly arrived. Salahdine Parnasse obliterated Dan Hooker in 2:35 of the first round. It was Parnasse’s promotional debut and he couldn’t have made a more impressive first impression. Parnasse came over from KSW, where he held the featherweight and lightweight titles at the same time, and finished Kenneth Cross on the MVP card on Netflix in May. His KO win on Saturday earned one of the $100,000 Performance of the Night bonuses.
Parnasse has the chance to become the best free-agent signing the UFC has had since the promotion signed Justin Gaethje from the World Series of Fighting. Yes, he looks that good. He called out Max Holloway, but I think perhaps a fight with Benoit Saint Denis or Renato Moicano next. Parnasse should be the favorite in those fights, but it creates a steady rise.
Axel Sola Destroys Fares Ziam
The co-main event featured its own viral KO. Axel Sola detonated a huge punch on the middle of Fares Ziam’s face. The latter was out before he hit the canvas. Paul Felder, who was on commentary, immediately said Sola would be getting one of the $100,000 bonuses.
He is 23-2. Sola’s knockout landed at 1:40 of the first round, his second straight first-round finish and his second win in Paris in as many appearances there. Michael Page beat Nursulton Ruziboev by decision in what may have been his final UFC appearance.

I have never seen a celebration better than what we saw from Losene Keita.
To KO an opponent in the UFC and to have the wherewithal to hop the cage and to perform such a well-orchestrated celebration is absolutely star making. If you only see one highlight from the event, it’ll probably be that one.
