Broader market futures were also in the green, with Nasdaq futures up 0.74% and S&P 500 futures gaining 0.31%.

Much of the attention is turning to AMD’s Advancing AI 2026 event, set for July 22-23. Investors are expecting a look at AMD’s next-generation AI product roadmap, including new CPUs and GPUs.

UBS weighed in ahead of the event, saying it is likely to focus on technology updates rather than splashy customer announcements. The firm flagged that investors hoping for big new partnership news may want to keep expectations in check.

On the product side, UBS anticipates updates on AMD’s data center CPU roadmap — specifically Venice and Verano — along with its GPU lineup, including the MI450x and MI500. The firm also expects early details on the MI600.

What UBS Is Watching

UBS sees Amazon as a potential customer for the MI450x and names Anthropic as another possible AI client. But it’s cautioning that blockbuster customer reveals are unlikely this week.

The firm also expects AMD to confirm volume production of its next-gen EPYC Venice server processor. Verano, the follow-up chip, is expected to be built on Taiwan Semiconductor’s 2-nanometer process.

AMD’s last quarterly report gave it a solid foundation heading into the event. Revenue came in at $10.25 billion for Q1, up 37.8% year over year, beating analyst expectations of $9.90 billion. EPS hit $1.37, topping the $1.29 consensus.

Analyst sentiment remains broadly positive. Bank of America lifted its price target to $620 on July 14. KeyBanc raised its target to $725 on the same day. TD Cowen set a $675 target on July 13.

Insider Selling a Watch Point

One factor some investors are keeping an eye on is insider activity. Over the past six months, AMD insiders have made 100 open-market sales and zero purchases.

EVP Paul Darren Grasby sold 24,376 shares in May at an average of $444.39. EVP Forrest Eugene Norrod also sold 19,487 shares at an average of $431.40. CTO Mark Papermaster recently sold 6,000 shares as well.

AMD’s 52-week range sits between $149.22 and a high of $584.73. The stock opened Monday at $495.76 with a market cap of around $808 billion.

Institutional investors hold 71.34% of AMD stock. Parallel Advisors LLC increased its position by 12.9% in Q1, adding 4,516 shares to bring its total to 39,390.

The consensus analyst rating stands at Moderate Buy, with an average price target of $468.65 across the full analyst pool — though recent upgrades from major banks sit well above that figure.
