Ark Invest bought into Circle Internet Group on Aug. 5, the same day the company dropped its second-quarter results. Circle stock closed at $63.28, up just 0.05% on the day, putting the value of Ark’s purchase at roughly $17.3 million.

The firm picked up 273,343 Circle shares spread across three funds: the Ark Innovation ETF (ARKK), the Ark Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW), and the Ark Blockchain and Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF).

Circle was already sitting as the ninth-largest holding in ARKK, with a 3.68% weighting and a total value of $223.4 million in that fund alone.

Ark’s internal rules cap any single holding at 10% of a fund’s portfolio, so there was still room to add without hitting the ceiling.

The buy came during a flat market response, which is exactly the kind of entry Ark tends to look for. The firm used the muted price reaction to increase exposure without waiting for sentiment to turn.

Circle Q2 Numbers

Circle posted total revenue and reserve income of $701 million for Q2, a 7% increase year-over-year. Adjusted EBITDA climbed 8% to $143 million.

USDC in circulation closed the quarter at $73.3 billion, up 19% from a year ago.

On-chain transaction volume hit $14.8 trillion for the quarter, a 151% jump year-over-year. That’s a big number, though it doesn’t flow directly into revenue at the same rate.

Circle’s earnings remain heavily tied to reserve income, which links results to both USDC circulation levels and the interest rates earned on those reserve assets. That’s worth keeping in mind if rate expectations shift.

The flat stock reaction suggests investors may have already priced in some of the growth, or they’re focused on what lower rates could do to future reserve income. Either way, Ark wasn’t deterred.

What Ark Paid and Why

Ark’s purchase price of around $63.28 per share came on a day when the stock barely moved. That’s a different setup from the firm’s SpaceX buy on the same day, where Ark stepped in during a 13.61% sell-off.

In Circle’s case, the entry wasn’t about buying a dip. It was about adding to a position after results that showed steady operational growth, even if the market didn’t react with much enthusiasm.

At $223.4 million already held in ARKK alone, Circle is not a new name in Ark’s portfolio. Wednesday’s purchase was a top-up, not a new bet.

Circle’s USDC transaction volume of $14.8 trillion for the quarter reflects growing usage of the stablecoin across on-chain activity.

The Q2 report was Circle’s most recent financial update as of Aug. 5, 2026.
