Bitcoin proponent Jeff Swanson has tweeted about why the premier cryptocurrency still has its fair share of naysayers, even though it is the best hope for the average person to escape inflation and keep control of their money. His comments come as BTC is on a strong recovery curve, above $86k just before press time.
Swanson tweeted:

Swanson has been promoting Bitcoin for the past decade, and he claims crypto helped him escape the 9-5. BTC has appreciated considerably during this time, and it allowed him and many other early investors to retire and live freely; for him, it raises the question of why people still hate the crypto economy so much, even though it has delivered so much to the masses.
However, his experience with crypto is not the same as the rest of the world’s, so dissecting this important question requires an effort to understand the depth of the problem and the urgency of the solution.
Most People Think of Crypto as a Quick Rich Scheme
One of the main reasons the general public has a largely negative or skeptical attitude toward cryptocurrencies is that the digital currency market has been marketed to them as a get-rich-quick scheme.
While Swanson and others have advocated a Bitcoin-heavy, long-term investment strategy with a higher likelihood of paying off, several influencers and detractors have presented crypto as a high-risk asset with ways to get rich instantly. They lean heavily on leveraged derivatives, memecoins, and other volatile investments that can get users rekt more often.
Unfortunately, many members of the public bought into this alternative vision for crypto and lost a lot of money betting on these risky schemes instead of waiting for the right buying opportunity and cashing out at the right time. This is one of the primary reasons why many members of the public have a negative view of Bitcoin in general, ironically, even though most of them haven’t even invested in BTC.
One user replied to Swanson:

Bitcoin is Unlike Any Other Crypto
As Michael Saylor, Jack Dorsey, and other Bitcoin maximalists point out, the top cryptocurrency by market capitalization is not like any other digital currency, and we should stop treating it as such.
It commands more than half of the total market cap and has been incredibly stable, with a track record of strong performance over the years.
The Future
Bitcoin’s sustained growth has forced even major institutional investors into the crypto scene through ETFs, many of whom were once vehemently against digital assets and called them fraudulent. They don’t see a bright future for politically managed, credit-based currencies like fiat. They are looking for alternatives, and Bitcoin, along with Gold is a credible, proven asset to invest in.
