- The WTGXX fund recorded a valuation of $1.23 billion and 887 holders as of September 18, 2026, according to metrics from rwa.xyz.
- MoonPay will incorporate holdings of the financial vehicle within the reserve infrastructure backing its stablecoin operations.
Last Thursday, investment manager WisdomTree and payments platform MoonPay announced their union to enable the purchase of their tokenized Treasury fund to eligible investors in the United States.
The alliance links the WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund (WTGXX) product with MoonPay’s retail interface. Corporate information details that the fund seeks to preserve capital and liquidity through US Treasury bills and money market instruments with a target value of $1 per share.
The commercial integration aims to diversify entry paths for institutional capital into decentralized environments. According to statements from WisdomTree CEO Jonathan Steinberg, the initiative stands as an alternative for users to deploy capital in regulated assets as stablecoins modify liquidity circulation.
Until the date of the announcement, fund shares were primarily channeled through the WisdomTree Connect portal and authorized broker-dealers. MoonPay’s technological infrastructure will add a complementary channel connecting financial applications, digital wallets, and exchanges.
Integration into Stablecoin Reserves and Multichain Architecture
MoonPay will utilize the money market fund within its own stablecoin backing structure. Traditional backing balances custodied in bank deposits will now coexist with assets registered on public blockchains.
This technical maneuver connects two sectors of Real World Assets (RWA). According to the report from Altcoin Buzz, industry analysts point out that placing tokenized sovereign debt as operational collateral for stablecoins could optimize the profitability of corporate crypto treasuries.
As of September 18, 2026, data from the rwa.xyz platform places WTGXX in fifth place among tokenized Treasury funds globally, within a sector market valued at $15.4 billion. The product ranks behind issuances managed by firms such as Securitize, Ondo Finance, Circle, and Franklin Templeton.
WTGXX issuances currently operate on the Ethereum, Solana, and Arbitrum networks, with the largest concentration of capital located on Ethereum. In the last seven days prior to Friday, September 18, the fund’s estimated annual percentage yield stood around 3.61%.
MoonPay’s institutional division, established in April 2026 after absorbing the custody firm Sodot, will coordinate the technical deployment of the system. MoonPay Institutional CEO Caroline D. Pham indicated that the project reflects how blockchain infrastructure can articulate services within existing regulatory frameworks in US territory.
At the regulatory level, the fund operates under exemptions from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) authorizing continuous and instant settlements. The firm clarifies in its prospectus that the instrument does not constitute a bank deposit nor is it covered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
The companies noted that the initial deployment will serve as a technical test for a planned expansion into other international jurisdictions during the last quarter of 2026. Both technical teams have yet to confirm the exact launch date and the specific percentage of reserves that WTGXX will represent in MoonPay’s corporate accounts.
