World Chain Launches Flashblocks With Full EIP‑7928 Access Lists

World Chain implemented full block access lists based on EIP-7928, an improvement that allows validators to verify blocks in parallel while they are still being built.

The activation was carried out through a runtime configuration flag, avoiding the need for a coordinated hard fork: the World Chain Sepolia testnet enabled it on July 27, and the mainnet deployment is scheduled for August 17.

The mechanism operates on top of the network’s flashblocks system, which produces one block every 2 seconds divided into 200-millisecond increments. Each flashblock carries a portion of the access list generated during execution, including fields that precisely delimit which transactions each segment covers.

This allows World Chain validator nodes to execute transactions in parallel without depending on prior results, eliminating the serial chain that forces sequential one-by-one replay, and to begin computing the state root simultaneously, in the background.

Load tests conducted on development networks showed significant results. With standard cloud infrastructure —AWS instances with the reth container limited to 4 vCPUs— validation latency per flashblock remained sublinear up to 100 Mgas/s and reached a stable plateau when scaling toward 1 Ggiga per second of throughput.

World Chain already operates with access lists in production and without forced network coordination. Block verification becomes a fully parallelizable process that uses all available cores.
