The filing was submitted on Monday and adds to Grayscale’s existing lineup of 17 crypto-related exchange-traded products. Those include funds tracking Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, and Chainlink.

BitGo Bank & Trust has been named as custodian for the WLD tokens held by the fund. BNY Mellon would serve as administrator and transfer agent, while CSC Delaware Trust Company would act as trustee.

The filing does not yet include details on management fees, seed investment, authorized participants, or liquidity providers. Grayscale has said it plans to offer in-kind creations and redemptions for the fund.

What Is Worldcoin?

WLD is an ERC-20 token built on the Ethereum blockchain. It serves as the native token of World, a project that uses biometric verification to tell humans apart from bots.

World was co-founded by Sam Altman, who is also the CEO of OpenAI. That connection to the AI industry has drawn investor attention to the token in recent months.

The fund is set to go live once WLD satisfies the eligibility requirements under the Nasdaq’s generic listing standards. These standards allow crypto ETFs to launch faster than through the standard approval process.

WLD Price Reaction

The WLD price rose over 4% on the day of the filing. The token was trading at around $0.376 at the time of reporting, according to TradingView data.

Despite the single-day gain, WLD is still down over 10% over the past week. The token has been on a downtrend since reports emerged that OpenAI may not go public this year.

WLD also moved higher alongside the broader crypto market. Bitcoin climbed above the $65,000 level for the first time in weeks on the same day.

The Worldcoin ETF filing comes less than a week after T. Rowe Price launched the first active crypto ETF, which tracks multiple assets including Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Grayscale is also an issuer of Hyperliquid ETFs, making GWLD another addition to its expanding crypto ETF roster.

WLD was trading at approximately $0.376 at the time of the S-1 filing, up over 4% on the day.
