XRP has launched its first official account on X, more than 14 years after the cryptocurrency’s creation, establishing a dedicated social media presence jointly managed by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation.
The October 19 debut opened with the message “hello, world. It’s about time,” accompanied by a 10-second video featuring the XRP logo. The account describes XRP as the native asset of the decentralized XRP Ledger, a blockchain designed for payments.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse welcomed the new account, describing its arrival as long overdue, while the XRP Ledger Foundation celebrated the launch as a new era for the cryptocurrency’s online presence.
Ripple and XRP Ledger Foundation Welcome New Account
The official @XRP account attracted immediate attention across the cryptocurrency community, gaining more than 47,000 followers within hours of its launch.
Ripple welcomed the account by highlighting more than a decade of development alongside thousands of XRP Ledger contributors. The Foundation also marked the occasion with an animated terminal graphic.
Cryptocurrency exchanges Gemini and Uphold, payment provider MoonPay and blockchain interoperability network Flare were among the industry participants engaging with the debut.
The account’s second post directed users to XRP’s official website, which explains the cryptocurrency’s payment capabilities, transaction settlement and role within the XRP Ledger.
XRP was created in 2012, and its blockchain operates independently of Ripple through a decentralized validator network. The new account provides a jointly managed communications channel without changing XRP’s ownership structure, token supply or network governance.
Ripple Prepares for Swell 2026 in New York
The launch comes one week before Ripple’s Swell 2026 conference, scheduled for October 27–29 in New York City.
The three-day event will bring together more than 1,500 attendees, with over 100 speakers and 80 sessions covering tokenization, institutional payments, digital asset infrastructure, stablecoins and decentralized finance.
Ripple has combined Swell with the XRPL Apex developer summit and its University Blockchain Research Initiative’s UBRI Connect event for the first time.
The combined program will include financial institutions, technology companies, developers and policymakers discussing blockchain-based financial services and institutional adoption.
Ripple has also expanded its payment infrastructure ahead of the conference. Its recent Cross River Bank integration introduced RLUSD stablecoin support within the bank’s core payment infrastructure, connecting conventional banking services with transactions on the XRP Ledger.
Evernorth’s Nasdaq Listing Expands Institutional XRP Exposure
The official account launch also follows the completion of Evernorth Holdings’ Nasdaq listing under the ticker XRPN after its merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II.
The Ripple-backed company holds approximately 473 million XRP, making it one of the largest publicly traded corporate XRP treasuries. Its business combination was expected to generate approximately $300 million in gross cash proceeds before transaction expenses.
Evernorth had previously filed its SPAC registration as part of its plan to provide institutional investors with XRP exposure through publicly traded shares.
Garlinghouse serves as a strategic advisor to Evernorth alongside other Ripple executives, while former Ripple executive Asheesh Birla leads the company as chief executive.
Evernorth has also selected Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo as its initial institutional execution partners. The company plans to begin deploying capital from its XRP holdings during the fourth quarter of 2026 through institutional investment strategies, with potential expansion into XRP Ledger lending and decentralized finance as those markets develop.
