TLDR

  • XRP price gained more than 4% over 24 hours and approached the key $1.13 resistance level.
  • A breakout above $1.13 could support a 20% rally toward the $1.35 target.
  • XRP moved above its 20-day EMA but remained below the 50-day and 100-day averages.
  • Technical indicators showed buyers held a narrow advantage, although overall trend strength remained weak.
  • Short liquidations increased as XRP advanced, while long liquidations stayed relatively limited.

XRP price climbed more than 4% over 24 hours as buyers pushed the token toward the $1.13 resistance level. Traders now focus on a symmetrical triangle that has compressed short-term trading activity near that threshold. A confirmed breakout could target $1.35, although the broader descending channel still limits the daily recovery.

XRP Price Faces Descending Channel Resistance Ahead

XRP price traded near $1.13 on Monday after gaining about 4.6% during the previous 24 hours. The token moved between $1.08 and $1.14 as buyers defended support and tested nearby resistance. XRP price also held above the $1.10 area, which supported the latest rebound.

Market capitalization reached approximately $70.85 billion, while daily trading volume stood near $1.27 billion. Analyst Ali Martinez identified a symmetrical triangle on the hourly chart after a period of tighter price action. He said a move above $1.13 could support a roughly 20% advance toward $1.35.

Martinez also noted a TD Sequential buy signal on XRP’s monthly chart. However, the wider daily structure remains inside a descending channel that has restricted rallies for several months. XRP price therefore needs a clear channel break before confirming a broader trend change.

Technical Indicators Show Limited Bullish Control

XRP price rose 2.04% to about $1.134 on the daily chart after rebounding from $1.10. The token reached an intraday high near $1.137 and recorded a low around $1.110. Buyers also moved the token above its 20-day exponential moving average near $1.105.

However, XRP remains below the 50-day average near $1.145 and the 100-day average around $1.237. A daily close above $1.145 could expose resistance near $1.20 and $1.29. XRP price could instead revisit $1.06 if sellers regain control below $1.10.

The Directional Movement Index still shows weak trend strength, with the ADX reading near 12.22. The positive indicator stands at 23.14, slightly above the negative indicator at 20.67. XRP price holds a narrow short-term advantage, but stronger volume remains necessary for confirmation.

Liquidations and ETF Inflows Support Demand

XRP moved toward $1.13 as short liquidations increased during the latest derivatives trading period. The advance forced bearish positions from the market, while long liquidations remained comparatively limited. XRP still faced lower derivatives activity than the major liquidation event recorded in late June.

During that earlier event, long liquidations approached $40.42 million across the tracked market. The latest recovery reflects renewed short-term demand, but buyers must maintain pressure above the current range. XRP also needs sustained spot participation before extending gains toward higher resistance levels.

XRP price also received support from spot ETFs, which recorded $2.49 million in net inflows on July 20. Bitwise’s BWXRP generated all daily inflows and lifted its cumulative total to $501 million. XRP price ended near $1.13 as ETF assets reached $1.017 billion and cumulative inflows reached $1.489 billion.
