What to know:
- XRP price shows a historic weekly MACD momentum reset, a pattern that previously preceded strong rallies in XRP dominance.
- Analyst Bird says the current setup could mark the beginning of a long-term move toward the $27 target if buying momentum returns.
- RSI near oversold levels hints that bearish momentum may be fading, but a breakout above key resistance is needed to confirm recovery.

XRP price is showing early signs of stability after months of weakness, with a technical pattern drawing increased market attention. Although the XRP price remains below key resistance levels, one analyst believes the current setup could support a major reversal if buying momentum continues to strengthen.
At the time of writing, XRP is trading at $1.09, up 0.99% over the last 24 hours. The XRP has recorded a 24-hour trading volume of $925.26 million, while its market capitalization stands at $68.46 billion, reflecting continued investor interest despite recent price struggles.

Weekly XRP Dominance Pattern Draws Attention
On 19th July 2026, crypto analyst Bird pointed out that one significant chart to consider when looking at the performance of XRP is the one measuring XRP Dominance over a weekly period. The chart does not track only the performance of XRP itself but rather how much XRP constitutes of the whole market.
As Bird suggests, the chart has achieved a stage where weekly MACD is performing another momentum reset. He identified three such cases on the chart and pointed out that after the first two resets, the XRP dominance had rallied quite strongly.
However, after about a year of a steady fall, the technical setup looks very familiar now. According to Bird, a period of extended bearish trends usually helps reset all momentum oscillators. In case buying interest comes back, a rally may be quite impressive.
Although the expert admitted that technical setup is not a predictor of success in advance, similar setups observed during the previous cycle imply that XRP may see a sudden rebound rather than a gradual one. With this consideration in mind, according to Bird, the way for the XRP price to reach $27 can start.
XRP Price Still Faces Strong Technical Resistance
Contrary to the positive outlook projected by the weekly dominance graph for the coin in the future, the current price action for XRP is very poor.
The Moving Average Ribbon confirms the presence of sellers in control of the overall market movement, as the XRP price is trading below all the significant moving averages. XRP is trading at around $1.09 against the 20-day SMA of $1.2885, 50-day SMA of $1.8896, 100-day SMA of $1.9167, and 200-day SMA of $1.2127.
Moving averages now provide several resistance levels above the prevailing price. The longer-term technical outlook will probably be under pressure until XRP moves above it.
RSI of 14 days is 34.06, whereas the Signal Line is 34.82; therefore, the indicator is approaching the oversold condition. It implies that sellers have been more active in the last few weeks compared to buyers.
Nonetheless, an oversold RSI indicates that the downward momentum is gradually losing pace, which implies that there is a possibility of improvement. Improvement in RSI means that it crosses the 50 neutral level.
XRP Price Eyes Major Breakout
The coming few weeks will be critical in determining where XRP goes from here.
The ability to move the price level above these resistance levels will likely boost confidence about its eventual recovery, especially when there is an increase in the RSI levels.
Inability to break out of these barriers will probably lead the XRP price to continue consolidating and may even see it continuing with its corrective trend.
But at the moment, the weekly MACD reset provides an incentive for long-term investors to pay attention to the chart, though further confirmation will be required when price action starts aligning with positive momentum developments.
