President Donald Trump met with advisers on Friday about government ethics language that is under consideration for a major cryptocurrency bill the Senate is set to vote on next week.
The meeting’s outcome remains undisclosed. The Senate faces a procedural vote Tuesday, followed by the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate decision Wednesday.

CLARITY Act Faces a September 15 Test
Senator Cynthia Lummis released a revised, 630-page draft Thursday. She said the text incorporates more than 114 provisions requested by Democratic colleagues. The count refers to changes, not commitments to vote.
The draft sets rules for trading protocols that retain centralized control despite describing themselves as decentralized. Such operators could face CFTC registration and requirements under the Bank Secrecy Act.
Senate Republicans dropped a revised Clarity Act draft ahead of the Sept. 15 cloture vote. Here’s what changed:
• Non-decentralized DeFi protocols must now register with the CFTC, with CFTC and Treasury jointly writing the rules
• DeFi provisions narrowed to spot trading only… pic.twitter.com/iYfeTEp9DV— Lark Davis (@LarkDavis) September 13, 2026
The proposed DeFi provisions cover spot digital commodity transactions, leaving prediction markets outside that section. It also clarifies when credit unions may provide digital asset services.
The CFTC would write tailored rules after consulting the SEC and Treasury. Lawmakers continue debating ethics safeguards and the treatment of stablecoin rewards. Friday’s meeting left the ethics outcome unknown.
The Senate schedule lists cloture on the motion to proceed for September 15 at 2:15 p.m. ET. Cloture requires 60 votes, while Republicans currently hold 53 Senate seats. Republicans need seven additional votes if united. A successful vote would begin debate; it would not make the measure law.
Fed Decision Adds Another Market Catalyst
The Federal Open Market Committee meets September 15 and 16, with its rate decision scheduled Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET. Futures markets recently placed the chance of a quarter-point increase near 90%. August consumer prices rose 3.4% from a year earlier, reinforcing inflation concerns.

A rate increase could weigh on speculative assets if Treasury yields and the dollar rise. Traders may examine the Fed’s projections and Chair Kevin Warsh’s remarks for guidance beyond September.
A less restrictive message could ease pressure, although neither outcome would settle the Senate dispute. XRP price faces two separate catalysts within roughly 24 hours, creating room for sharp moves in either direction.
XRP Price Prediction for This Week
XRP’s relative strength index stood near 45 in a September 13 technical reading, indicating subdued momentum. Its MACD remained negative, suggesting recent weakness had not reversed. Both indicators can change quickly around major announcements.

The first resistance zone sits around $1.35 to $1.37, near recent moving averages. A sustained break could put $1.40 and then $1.45 in focus this week. Below $1.33, attention would shift toward $1.30 if weakness deepens.
For now, holding $1.33 would preserve the near-term range. Stronger volume above $1.40 would provide clearer evidence of improving momentum. A failed Senate vote or an unexpectedly firm Fed message could instead increase pressure.
