Ripple’s MiCA License Expands Its Presence in Europe

Ripple announced on X that it has received full authorization from the Luxembourg Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) as a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP).

The company stated, “Regulatory clarity is the foundation of institutional trust,” adding that the license enables institutions across all 30 European Economic Area (EEA) countries to access Ripple Payments through “a single regulated relationship,” alongside its previously secured Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license.

The approval is a significant step for Ripple’s institutional payments business. As Europe continues implementing the MiCA framework, a unified regulatory environment could encourage banks and payment providers to adopt blockchain-based settlement solutions with greater confidence.

The development also strengthens Ripple’s ability to expand regulated payment services across the region under a single compliance framework.

XRP Price Remains Below Key Resistance

Despite the positive announcement, the daily TradingView chart suggests the XRP price is still struggling to regain bullish momentum.

The cryptocurrency continues trading below the 50-day moving average near $1.10 and the 200-day moving average around $1.34, indicating that sellers remain in control of the broader trend.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands around 44, showing weak momentum but not oversold conditions. A move above the 50-day moving average could improve the short-term outlook, while support near $1.05 remains an important level for buyers to defend.

Market Data Suggests Investors Are Waiting

Broader market indicators suggest investors remain cautious rather than aggressively increasing exposure. According to data from SoSoValue, Spot XRP ETF assets remain close to $1 billion, while daily net inflows were flat.

CoinGlass data also shows that open interest has remained relatively stable, indicating traders are maintaining existing positions instead of adding significant leverage.

The absence of notable ETF outflows suggests institutional investors have largely maintained their exposure despite recent market weakness.

Together, these indicators show that while the market has acknowledged Ripple’s regulatory progress, traders are still waiting for stronger technical confirmation before making a larger move.

What Traders Should Watch Next

Ripple’s MiCA approval reinforces the company’s long-term strategy of expanding regulated payment services for institutional clients. Even so, XRP has yet to confirm a bullish reversal on the charts.

If buyers reclaim the $1.10 resistance area, the regulatory catalyst could strengthen market sentiment and support a broader recovery. Until then, XRP is likely to remain range-bound as traders watch for stronger momentum and fresh buying interest.
