ZEC traded between $1,120.66 and $1,223.01 in the last 24 hours. Trading volume was near $575 million, and the token gained 5.44% over seven days.

The rebound followed several volatile sessions. ZEC repeatedly struggled to hold support around $1,200.

Futures traders faced losses despite the daily gain. CoinGlass data showed $14.02 million in ZEC liquidations over 24 hours.

Long positions made up about $10.03 million of that total. Short liquidations came to $3.99 million.

On October 23, crypto.news reported that ZEC futures open interest fell 12.45% to $2.37 billion. Futures turnover dropped 10.28% to about $7.23 billion.

Chart Analysis

The daily chart still shows sellers in control. ZEC trades below its 20-day moving average of $1,213.77, and buyers have not yet taken back the middle Bollinger Band after September’s run toward $1,700. RSI sits at 46.92, just above its average of 45.82, so momentum is improving but still below 50.

Support sits at $1,175–$1,180, then $1,100 and $1,084. A daily close under those levels opens a test of $1,000. One level to watch: $1,214. Reclaim it and $1,300 comes into view.

Analyst BitGuru said ZEC was rejected again near $1,194 and sees resistance between $1,220 and $1,270 on the four-hour chart. The analyst named $1,140, $1,090 and $1,040 as possible downside levels if sellers hold control. A break above $1,270 would weaken that bearish view.

Analyst Crypto Patel took a more bearish line in a post on X. He said ZEC rallied 10,735% in 28 months and may have formed a major top. He listed bearish targets of $834, $480, $300, $200 and $74, with a short zone of $1,350–$1,580.

Patel pointed to $834 as the level to watch. He noted that he is already short. He also cited $41.1 million in weekly ETF inflows and the NU7 upgrade, with price 38% below its $1,699 all-time high.

NU7 Upgrade Nears

Zcash’s Network Upgrade 7 (NU7) is scheduled for activation at block 3,543,405. The Zcash Foundation confirmed the date on October 22, and it is expected around November 5.

NU7 cuts the target block interval from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. Transactions will get their first confirmation about three times faster.

The upgrade also reserves part of transaction fees for future block rewards. It does not change the 21 million coin supply limit.

Node operators must install compatible software, such as Zebra 7.0.0, before activation.

The Ironwood shielded pool upgrade added supply-accounting protections earlier this year. It also includes quantum-recovery features, though current ZEC transactions are not quantum-resistant.

Winklevoss Asset Services has proposed a spot Zcash fund, which remains under regulatory review. Existing ZEC investment products have seen mixed flows.

ZEC was trading near $1,194 at the latest reports, with the $1,220–$1,270 zone still in focus.
