- ZRO price has fallen back inside the sideways range it has held since early October.
- Sellers have rejected every attempt to hold above the first major resistance level.
- Momentum has cooled from overheated to neutral while the broader uptrend remains intact.
- LayerZero’s new post-quantum research arrived without lifting the price.
The ZRO price stands at $1.90 on Saturday, down 12.2% over 24 hours and 3.5% over the week, after another failed attempt to break out of the range it has held for two weeks. The drop came a day after LayerZero Labs released Aerie, research showing post-quantum signatures can be bundled in under a second on a laptop, which suggests the market is treating the token’s autumn rally as stretched and is taking profits regardless of technical news. With a market capitalization near $760 million, ZRO now sits roughly $0.10 above the support level that has anchored its whole consolidation.
A 250% run meets a wall at $2.06

The ZRO price climbed about 250% in ten weeks, from an early-August low near $0.71 to an intraday peak of $2.48 on October 12. Since early October, however, price has moved sideways between roughly $1.80 and $2.25, and buyers have repeatedly failed to stay above $2.06, the first Fibonacci retracement level of the rally, which marks a point where traders commonly expect a pullback to pause or reverse. Long upper wicks on October 12 and October 16 show sellers absorbing every push higher, and Saturday’s candle, which opened at $2.05, has already given back 7.2% with about ten hours of trading left.
On the downside, $1.80 has done its job so far, and the October 15 low tested that level almost exactly before bouncing.
Momentum cools while the trend holds
The 14-day RSI peaked near 83 around October 6 and has since dropped to 53.6, meaning the token has moved from heavily overbought to neutral territory without the uptrend breaking, which is the constructive side of the picture. The weaker side comes from a mild bearish divergence, as price set a higher intraday high on October 12 while RSI made a lower high, a sign that each new push carries less buying force behind it. Volume tells a similar story, since trading was heaviest during the late-September breakout and has faded since, with selling days dominating the past week.
The longer-term structure still favors buyers, with price about 29% above the 50-day moving average at $1.48 and more than 50% above the 200-day average at $1.24, while the 50-day line crossed above the 200-day in early October, a pattern traders call a golden cross.

Why Aerie did not move the price
According to the LayerZero Aerie announcement, the system, built with a16z crypto research, Carnegie Mellon University and Imperial College London, aggregated 32,768 Falcon signatures in 0.65 seconds on an Apple M4 Max laptop without a GPU. Aggregation means merging thousands of validator approvals into one proof the network checks once, something today’s BLS signatures do natively but quantum-resistant schemes standardized by NIST cannot, which is why the result matters for proof-of-stake chains preparing for quantum computers. The Aerie research paper reports verification 38x faster than Orthus, the closest prior lattice-based system.
Research of this kind rarely moves a token on the day because it carries no deployment date, no revenue effect and no direct change to supply or demand for ZRO. Its value for holders runs through Zero, LayerZero’s upcoming layer-1 blockchain, where Akita, the commitment scheme Aerie builds on, is already slated to secure the Jolt proving system. Traders appear to be pricing that roadmap on the Zero launch itself, leaving the chart to decide the short-term direction.
ZRO price paths from $1.80
If $1.80 holds and ZRO closes a day back above $2.06, the two-week range would look like a pause after a strong leg higher, putting $2.20 to $2.48 back in reach, while only a move through $2.48 on rising volume would confirm the rally is resuming. A daily close below $1.80 would break the range floor and open the way to $1.59, which would still count as a routine halfway pullback inside the uptrend. The decisive zone lies at $1.38 to $1.48, where the 0.618 level, the late-September breakout area and the rising 50-day average overlap, and losing it would put the whole August-to-October advance in doubt.
The next fundamental test is the ML-DSA benchmark LayerZero has promised but not yet published, since that scheme, finalized by NIST as FIPS 204, is the standard most governments and large institutions are being told to adopt first, and a strong result there would speak more directly to the institutional users Zero is courting.
