Jupiter’s Q3 Staking Rewards For All Wallets Opens Today, See Who Clears the 50 JUP Bar

50 JUP sounds like a threshold almost anyone can meet. It isn’t, and today is when many stakers will find that out.

Jupiter’s Active Staking Rewards (ASR) for July to September 2026 are now open to every wallet. That means a 50 million JUP pool can be claimed by anyone who qualified. The problem is that “qualified” doesn’t mean what most people think. The rule isn’t “have 50 JUP staked.” It’s “average 50 JUP across the whole quarter.” Running the numbers this morning and a lot of wallets that look eligible at a glance aren’t.

Claims Widen Beyond Jupiter Wallet From October 20

The round started quietly. According to the official Q3 campaign page, the campaign ran from July 1 until earning closed on September 30, and claims opened on October 12. That first week was reserved for Jupiter’s own apps. Early access was limited to Jupiter Wallet and the Jupiter Mobile app, and other wallets can claim from 20 October 2026.

So if you stake from Phantom, Solflare, Backpack or a hardware wallet, today is your first real opportunity. Jupiter’s documentation explains why the wallet matters. Rewards are linked to the wallet you staked from. If that wallet lives in another app, you either wait for the general opening or import the same recovery phrase into Jupiter Wallet or Jupiter Mobile.

Tokenmetrics

There’s no rush to the finish line yet. Reports put the claim deadline at January 12, 2027. Still, I wouldn’t leave it to the holidays.

Jupiter's Q3 Staking Rewards For All Wallets Opens Today, See Who Clears the 50 JUP BarHow the 50 JUP Time-Weighted Average Actually Works

The campaign page states the rules plainly. 50M JUP will be distributed to stakers this period, ASR is calculated on a time-weighted average of your stake, and an average of 50 JUP or more staked during the quarter qualifies.

The words that matter are “time-weighted average.” A wallet that held 50 JUP for all 92 days of Q3 averages exactly 50. A wallet that held 500 JUP for only a few days might average less than that. Jupiter designed it this way on purpose. The 7-day unstaking cooldown stops users from staking briefly around distribution periods to collect rewards without sustained participation.

One more detail surprised me, given the program’s name. Voting has no effect on ASR, and you do not need to vote to be eligible. The “Active” in Active Staking Rewards now refers to keeping tokens staked, not to governance turnout.

Recomputing Who Clears the Bar

Here’s the simple math. It assumes the average is weighted day by day across the 92 days from July 1 to September 30. Jupiter hasn’t published its exact snapshot schedule, so treat these figures as close estimates, not guarantees.

  • Staked from July 1: 50 JUP is enough.
  • Staked from August 1 (61 days in): you needed about 76 JUP.
  • Staked from August 16 (46 days in): you needed 100 JUP.
  • Staked from September 1 (30 days in): you needed roughly 154 JUP.
  • Staked from September 15 (16 days in): you needed about 288 JUP.
  • Staked on September 30 only: you needed around 4,600 JUP.

The edge cases are where people get caught. Suppose a wallet held 60 JUP from July 1 but started unstaking at the end of August. Its average comes to only about 40 JUP, so it misses. Another wallet held 40 JUP all quarter and added 30 more on September 1. It ends up at roughly 49.8 JUP, just under the line. Adding 31 instead of 30 would have qualified it.

The simplest check is to connect your wallet at Jupiter Rewards. The page will show the amount of ASR you’re eligible to claim. If it shows nothing for an older address, the time-weighting is the most likely reason.

What a Qualifying Staker Can Expect From the 50M Pool

Now for the payout. As of mid-October 2026, total staked JUP topped 1.1 billion tokens, roughly 33% of circulating supply, spread across more than 357,000 wallets.

If you divide 50 million JUP by about 1.1 billion staked, you get roughly 4.5% for the quarter. A wallet that just clears the 50 JUP average would receive about 2.3 JUP. An average of 1,000 JUP works out to about 45, and 10,000 to around 455. The quarter’s average total stake may have been a bit below the October figure, so actual allocations could come in slightly higher. Your campaign page shows the real number.

Don’t expect the tokens to show up as spendable JUP. ASR is paid in JUP and added to your staked balance, which increases your governance power over time.

The Claim Traps That Could Cost You

Three problems come up again and again in Jupiter’s support notes:

  1. You’re mid-unstake. You can’t claim ASR during the unstaking process. You can wait out the 7-day cooldown, or cancel the unstake and claim right away.
  2. You’re out of SOL. Claiming is an onchain transaction that needs gas, so keep at least about 0.01 SOL in your wallet.
  3. You’re on the wrong site. ASR is claimed at Jupiter Rewards, not on the governance page. Treat any other claim link, especially one sent in a DM, as a scam.

Squads multisig users have a more manual process. The ASR documentation covers it in detail, including checking that the claim uses the Jupiter Merkle Distributor program, DiS3nNjFVMieMgmiQFm6wgJL7nevk4NrhXKLbtEH1Z2R before you approve anything.

Missing the deadline has real consequences. According to the Jupiter DAO portal, unclaimed ASR goes back to the community treasury once the claim period ends. Jupiter also says that no transfer is made on your behalf after the support deadline.

Why 1.1 Billion Staked JUP Changes the Math

The bigger picture is a pool that’s getting more crowded. Every quarter, 50M JUP goes to eligible stakers, and that figure doesn’t change. With staked JUP now above 1.1 billion, each new staker gets a smaller slice of the same pie.

ASR is also the main reward Jupiter is still paying out. The Jupiter DAO voted in February 2026 to postpone Jupuary and send its 700 million JUP back to a community multisig. That leaves this quarterly distribution as the core reason to keep JUP staked.

My advice is to claim this round now and then look ahead. The October to December period is already more than halfway through. The same math applies, and each week you wait raises how much JUP you need to reach a 50 JUP average.
