AMD Ryzen AI Halo Now Available at Micro Center for $3,999

AMD’s highly anticipated Ryzen AI Halo systems are now available at Micro Center, marking their first retail debut. Priced at $3,999, these mini-PCs bring workstation-class AI performance to developers and creators, promising to redefine local AI development workflows.

The Ryzen AI Halo is built around AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, leveraging the Zen 5 CPU architecture, RDNA 3.5 graphics, and a high-performance neural processing unit (NPU). With up to 128GB of unified memory and support for running models with up to 200 billion parameters locally, this platform is tailored for developers working with increasingly complex AI models. It targets use cases such as large language model (LLM) inference and AI agent development, offering an alternative to cloud-based solutions by keeping workflows on-device.

Jack Huynh, AMD’s Senior Vice President of Computing and Graphics, emphasized the system’s potential: “With Ryzen AI Halo now shipping, developers have a powerful new platform to build the next era of agentic AI – the performance for ambitious workloads, the memory for larger models, and the flexibility to move from idea to implementation without compromise.”

Micro Center was selected as the exclusive global launch partner, a move that aligns with AMD’s growing momentum in the market. Rick Mershad, CEO of Micro Center, highlighted this synergy: “Demand is surging for systems that allow customers to run larger models locally, experiment faster, and maintain workflow control. The Ryzen AI Halo answers that call.”

This launch positions AMD to compete directly with Nvidia’s $4,699 DGX Spark platform, undercutting it by $700. While Nvidia maintains dominance in the enterprise AI server market, Ryzen AI Halo targets a distinct niche: developers and small teams seeking high-performance local AI workstations at a lower entry point. AMD is also banking on its optimized ROCm software stack to further appeal to this audience.

The Ryzen AI Halo is part of AMD’s broader strategy to extend its AI acceleration capabilities beyond consumer PCs into dedicated development platforms. First unveiled at CES 2026, the system represents AMD’s push to democratize AI computing by offering compact, cost-effective alternatives to cloud and enterprise-grade solutions.
