As August begins, XRP finds itself in familiar territory — consolidating in a tight range around $1.06, trading roughly 71% below its all-time high of $3.65 set in July 2025. Yet despite sluggish price action, a growing chorus of analysts argues that XRP is coiling before a significant breakout.

XRP-backed ETF inflows have exceeded $1.5 billion, and the XRP Ledger added 489,000 accounts in 2026 alone — suggesting the on-chain fundamentals are quietly strengthening even as the price drifts sideways.

What Are Analysts Saying?

Bullish sentiment is building across crypto circles. Analyst Ali Martinez has flagged $1.13 as the key level to watch, noting that a decisive breakout above it could confirm a bullish move and open the door for further upside. On the more ambitious end of the spectrum, analyst Celal Kucuker has set a new all-time high target just above $6 by year-end, with his thesis hinging on the passage of the CLARITY Act.

Analyst Javon Marks has gone even further, mirroring XRP’s 2017 chart pattern against the current structure to project a $15 target — noting that the 2017 pattern produced a 2,872% gain from comparable levels.

Meanwhile, institutional forecasters are more measured but still constructive. Standard Chartered’s Geoff Kendrick revised his 2026 target down from $8 to $2.80, but left his longer-term forecasts unchanged at $7 for 2027 and $12.60 for 2028, signaling that the bull thesis remains intact — just on a slightly longer timeline.

The CLARITY Act: XRP’s Most Important Catalyst

The regulatory backdrop has changed dramatically since XRP’s years-long battle with the SEC. A landmark court ruling in August 2025 established XRP as a non-security in public transactions, removing a major legal overhang and enabling US-based institutions to re-engage with XRP without the prior risk of SEC enforcement. This was followed by the launch of XRP spot ETFs in November 2025, which attracted over $1 billion in investor capital within 30 days.

Now the next domino is the CLARITY Act. The legislation has cleared its committee hurdle and reached the Senate floor, sparking renewed optimism among XRP investors who see regulatory clarity as a potential catalyst for unlocking billions in institutional capital.

The CLARITY Act passed the Senate Banking Committee 15-9 on May 14, 2026, providing the strongest legislative signal in years that XRP will be formally classified as a non-security. If signed into law, the effects could be sweeping. US banks, payment providers, and asset managers would gain clearer compliance pathways, and Ripple President Monica Long has expressed expectations for full-scale institutional adoption of the XRP Ledger in 2026.

Ripple Deepens Institutional Push

Ripple isn’t waiting for legislation to act. On July 23, 2026, the company launched Ripple Mint, an institutional platform designed to facilitate the issuance and management of its RLUSD stablecoin, with the aim of deepening XRP’s utility in cross-border payments and digital asset settlements. Ripple also made a strategic investment in Notabene, a compliance provider specializing in crypto regulations.

XRP exchange-traded funds have attracted substantial inflows despite broader weakness in parts of the crypto market, and XRP futures trading on CME has reportedly surpassed $100 billion in notional volume in its first year of activity.

The Technical Picture

XRP is trading below key moving averages, with the RSI sitting at 41 — weakening momentum, though not yet in oversold territory. The 20-day EMA near $1.10 is acting as the key near-term bull/bear line; reclaiming it could open a path back toward $1.26, while a break below $1.02 risks a slide toward $0.95.

The base case for 2026 projects XRP between $2.00 and $2.80; a bullish scenario could push the token above $3.00, while a bearish scenario could keep it range-bound between $1.10 and $1.50.

At press time, XRP was trading at $1.05 with a 24-hour trading volume of approximately $588 million. Whether bulls can push it past the key $1.13–$1.15 resistance cluster in the coming days may determine the tone for the rest of the summer.
