Bitdeer AI Sells Out 9.5MW Malaysia Data Center, $800M in Revenue Expected

Bitdeer AI, the AI-focused subsidiary of Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ: BTDR), has sold out its 9.5MW A102 data center in Malaysia ahead of its anticipated Q1 2027 energization. The long-term offtake commitments tied to the facility are expected to generate over $800 million in revenue across five years, the company announced on August 31, 2026.

The A102 facility is a liquid-cooled, multi-customer site specifically designed for NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 deployments. It offers GPU cloud services and data hosting, positioning Bitdeer AI as a key player in high-density AI infrastructure. Customer prepayments for these contracts are expected to cover more than 50% of the center’s capital expenditure, demonstrating Bitdeer’s ability to secure funding through demand-driven development. Revenue from the facility is projected to begin in Q1 2027 when operations commence.

Bitdeer AI is ramping up its AI cloud ambitions, targeting a total of 350MW of AI-ready data center capacity by Q1 2028. The Malaysia data center represents an initial step toward this goal, with the company leveraging a mix of customer prepayments, operating cash flow, and financing against contracted cash flows to fund its growth. The company also highlighted its active pipeline for AI cloud capacity, which now exceeds $2 billion, reflecting robust market demand.

CEO Jihan Wu’s pivot into AI infrastructure aligns with a broader trend among crypto-native companies diversifying into artificial intelligence. Bitdeer’s AI cloud push also benefits from its partnership with NVIDIA, a key player in the AI hardware sector. This strategic positioning could attract enterprise clients with growing AI computational needs, particularly in regions like Malaysia, known for stable power availability and proximity to emerging tech hubs.

Bitdeer’s market activity in 2026 underscores its dual focus on AI and Bitcoin mining. Recent updates have spotlighted its expanding operational footprint, including a 21.7MW Johor Bahru facility also slated for Q1 2027 and a manufacturing facility for its proprietary SEALMINER hardware in Nevada, expected by year-end. As of August 31, Bitdeer Technologies’ stock (BTDR) was trading at $10.85, reflecting a 4.94% gain over the previous 24 hours, with a market cap of $1.49 billion.

The sell-out of the A102 center signals strong appetite for AI cloud services, a sentiment likely to grow as Bitdeer AI continues its aggressive build-out. With $800 million in expected revenue locked in and a burgeoning pipeline, Bitdeer is making a calculated bet on AI infrastructure as a long-term growth driver.
