Block, Inc. (XYZ) stock ticked up 0.31% as the company’s Square unit rolled out a new integration with Apple Business. Apple (AAPL) stock, on the other side of the deal, dipped 0.49% on the day.
The integration lets Square sellers connect their business locations to Apple Business right from the Square Dashboard. That means one less login to juggle for small business owners.
Once connected, sellers can sync details like hours, address, and phone number across Apple Maps, Siri, Apple Wallet, and other Apple apps. Updates made in Square now flow through automatically instead of needing manual edits on each platform.
Sellers can also add action links to their Apple Maps place cards. Options include ordering, pickup, delivery, booking, or scheduling appointments.
What The Data Shows
Apple’s own numbers, cited in the announcement, claim locations that are claimed on Apple Maps get 30% more views. Action links reportedly boost clickthrough rates by 31% across website, call, and other buttons.
Block says the feature is meant to save sellers time rather than add another platform to manage separately. Business owners can handle their Apple presence in the same place they already run the rest of their operations.
Christopher Tompkins, founder of Broad Street Oyster Co., was quoted in the release. He said keeping listings accurate across six locations used to be a constant chore, and now it syncs automatically once connected in Square.
Morgan Kuntze, Global Partnerships Lead at Block, said the integration means sellers don’t have to choose between running their business and keeping every channel updated.
Where It’s Available
The feature is live now for eligible Square sellers with physical locations in Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the US.
In the US and Canada specifically, Square business-verified sellers who don’t already have an Apple Business account can enroll directly through the dashboard. That removes a signup step that previously sat outside Square’s ecosystem.
Block frames the launch as part of a broader push to help sellers get found wherever customers are searching. The company points to its recent integrations with ChatGPT and Claude as part of the same discovery-focused strategy.
Those AI integrations let sellers get surfaced through AI-powered conversations, according to Block. The Apple Business tie-up adds a mapping and voice assistant layer to that list.
Square says more features are planned for future releases. That includes place card engagement metrics and peer group benchmarks for sellers to compare their performance.
For now, the initial feature set covers brand management, automatic syncing, and action links. Block has not given a timeline for when the additional features will roll out.
