  • Circle and Volante are integrating USDC workflows into Volante’s AI-powered Payments Platform.
  • Banks can evaluate minting, redemption, wallet registration and USDC payment execution alongside existing payment rails.
  • Volante serves four of the top five global corporate banks and seven of the top 10 U.S. banks, giving the partnership broad institutional reach.

Circle is expanding the role of USDC in traditional banking infrastructure through a new collaboration with Volante Technologies, a payments technology provider. The partnership is designed to help financial institutions integrate stablecoin settlement into existing payment operations without creating a separate digital asset system.

The companies are bringing USDC workflows into Volante’s AI-powered Payments Platform, allowing banks to examine how digital dollars can operate alongside traditional payment rails, internal controls and on- and off-ramp processes. The approach could reduce one of the main barriers to institutional stablecoin adoption by connecting blockchain-based settlement with infrastructure banks already operate.

USDC Moves Closer To Existing Bank Payment Rails

Volante clients will be able to evaluate several USDC processes within the same payments environment they currently use. These include minting, redemption, beneficiary wallet registration, funding, notifications and wallet-to-wallet payment execution. The functionality is intended for evaluation, with Volante saying clients can soon begin testing the workflows.

The scale of Volante’s customer base adds significance to the integration. The company says its clients include four of the top five global corporate banks and seven of the top 10 U.S. banks. That gives USDC a potential route into institutions that already handle large volumes of corporate and cross-border payments.

For banks, the model also changes how stablecoins can be approached operationally. Instead of requiring a standalone digital asset stack, USDC becomes another settlement rail connected to established payment infrastructure. This can allow institutions to experiment with blockchain-based transfers while maintaining existing governance and operational processes.

Circle Builds A Broader Institutional Payments Network

The Volante partnership fits into Circle’s broader push to position USDC as infrastructure for institutional money movement. In May, Circle partnered with Nium to connect USDC settlement with payout infrastructure spanning more than 190 countries and 100 currencies. Circle said Circle Payments Network had reached $8.3 billion in annualized transaction volume based on trailing 30-day activity as of March 31, 2026.

Circle has also agreed to acquire Tazapay, a cross-border payments platform with more than 60 banking and fintech partners and payout coverage across more than 100 markets. Circle said the transaction is intended to expand USDC distribution and payment capabilities globally, subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
