How High Can BTC Go After Hitting $87000?

Bitcoin has broken above two important levels this week. Its 50-week moving average, currently sitting around $78,320, and its previous swing high from May. According to one chart analyst tracking the move, this confirms Bitcoin completed a five-part upward pattern that started from July’s low, the kind of structure that typically signals a real trend rather than just a bounce.

Why This Move Isn’t Surprising, If You Know the Pattern

The analyst explained how this kind of move usually plays out. It starts slow, with most people not noticing anything has changed. Then comes a boring sideways pause that makes people lose interest.

After that, the move turns aggressive, catching latecomers and short-sellers off guard and forcing them to buy in fast. Another quiet pause follows, then one final push higher, this final stage needs less new buying pressure since most interested buyers are already in.

Where Bitcoin Could Go Next

Bitcoin has already reached the minimum target for this pattern, around $85,000, but that’s considered a weak outcome. A more solid target sits between $88,600 and $92,220, and if the rally extends further, it could reach as high as $97,637.

A Warning Sign Worth Watching

Even with prices climbing, momentum is showing a subtle warning. The RSI, a tool measuring buying strength, is posting a lower peak even as Bitcoin’s price sets a higher one. This mismatch, called a bearish divergence, often shows up near the end of a strong rally. It doesn’t mean a drop is coming immediately, but it suggests momentum could be losing steam.

What Happens After This Rally

A pullback after this kind of move is considered normal. It doesn’t have to be severe, Bitcoin could even hold above that 50-week moving average near $78,320. The analyst also flagged a broader support zone near $75,000 as worth watching if a deeper pullback happens, though he was clear this isn’t a price target, just a reference zone for where buyers may return if Bitcoin tops out.

Near-Term Levels to Watch

On the shorter timeframe, Bitcoin has completed a smaller five-part rally starting from its September 15 low. The key level to watch is $80,120. As long as that holds, the short-term uptrend stays intact. A confirmed break below it would be the first real sign Bitcoin has topped out for now.

Support also sits between $80,566 and $82,985, with $82,800 a level Bitcoin may retest soon. If it holds that zone and pushes higher again, $88,900 becomes the next realistic target.
