Hyperliquid Labs is in advanced talks with Payward to offer regulated perpetual futures to US traders, potentially giving American customers access through a CFTC-regulated exchange.

Under the proposed arrangement, Payward could use its Bitnomial exchange and clearinghouse to offer selected crypto-linked perpetual contracts built on Hyperliquid’s infrastructure.

Proposed U.S. Trading Structure

People familiar with the talks said Payward has already submitted the proposal to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The companies have not disclosed financial terms or publicly commented on the discussions.

Hyperliquid currently restricts US users from its main trading interface. Approval could give the platform a path into the US derivatives market, where perpetual futures are widely traded.

Payward expanded its US derivatives business through its acquisition of Bitnomial, gaining licenses covering exchange, clearing and futures brokerage operations.

Regulatory Push Gains Momentum

The talks follow President Donald Trump’s recent call for Hyperliquid to expand into the US. Trump said CFTC Chairman Michael Selig wanted the platform operating “in a fully compliant and legal fashion.”

Hyperliquid has also developed HIP-3, which allows third parties to create permissioned markets. Its policy group recently sought regulated energy perpetuals with TradeXYZ.

Hyperliquid traded near $84.22, with daily volume above $1 billion, according to CoinMarketCap.
