Hyundai completes a $20K USD₮ treasury pilot on Avalanche, settling between U.S. and Mexico units in about seven minutes.

Hyundai has completed a corporate treasury pilot using Tether’s USD₮ for cross-border settlement between two regional units. Tether announced the proof of concept on July 13, 2026.

The test involved Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Motor de México. Settlement was handled through Axiym on the Avalanche blockchain network.

Tether said the full transfer and verification process took about seven minutes on average. Traditional interbank transfers often take three to four hours or more.

The pilot tested stablecoin settlement inside a corporate treasury workflow. It also reviewed how digital dollars can support payments between overseas subsidiaries.

Hyundai Tests Stablecoin Treasury Transfer

Tether said the pilot moved funds between Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Motor de México. Besides, the transaction was an enterprise cross-border settlement test. Axiym provided the settlement system used during the process.

Hyundai Motor America converted $20,000 into USD₮ during the pilot. The stablecoin was then sent to Hyundai Motor de México. After receiving it, the unit converted the funds back into U.S. dollars.

The process included international transfer and verification steps. Besides, Tether said the average completion time was about seven minutes. That timing was compared with several hours for traditional bank transfers.

Axiym and Avalanche Support Settlement

The pilot used Axiym’s regulated settlement infrastructure for the USD₮ transfer. Additionally, Axiym helped support near-real-time movement of the stablecoin. The system was tested for enterprise treasury needs across borders.

The transfer was completed on Avalanche, a blockchain network used for digital asset settlement. Moreover, blockchain networks record transactions through shared digital ledgers. In this test, Avalanche served as the network layer for USD₮ movement.

Tether said the work builds on its strategic investment in Axiym. The company said it wants to expand enterprise and institutional uses for USD₮. These uses include payments, treasury management, and global capital movement.

Hyundai Card Reviews Compliance Framework

Hyundai Card led the design of the remittance structure for the pilot. It also reviewed regulatory, compliance, accounting, and operating requirements. These checks are important when companies test stablecoin transfers between subsidiaries.

Corporate treasury teams need clear controls before using new payment systems. They often review settlement timing, reporting rules, accounting treatment, and approval steps. The pilot gave Hyundai a structured way to test those areas.

The proof of concept used a $20,000 transfer amount. However, the process was built around enterprise treasury operations. Future tests may show how stablecoin settlement compares with bank-based payment systems at a larger scale.
