Kraken parent Payward expands xStocks to Hong Kong, UK, Europe and South Korea equities with GTN providing custody and execution.
Kraken parent Payward is expanding xStocks beyond U.S. equities through a new partnership with GTN. The plan will start with Hong Kong-listed stocks.
The expansion will later target equities from the UK, Europe, and South Korea. These markets will be added subject to regulatory approval.
GTN will provide execution, custody, and recordkeeping for the securities backing the tokens. This structure supports xStocks through traditional market infrastructure.
The update comes as tokenized stock platforms compete to bring more global assets on-chain. xStocks already supports over 500 tokenized securities.
Payward Targets Global Stock Access
Wu Blockchain reported that Payward is partnering with GTN to expand xStocks into new markets. The first planned addition is Hong Kong-listed equities. UK, European, and South Korean stocks are expected to follow.

The expansion would move xStocks beyond its earlier focus on U.S. equities. Tokenized stocks represent traditional shares as blockchain-based tokens. These products can give users exposure to public equities through on-chain systems.
Payward said the goal is to bring global capital markets on-chain.Β
Mark Greenberg, global head of Payward Services, said geography should become less relevant to investing. The statement framed international equities as the next step for tokenized markets.
GTN Provides Backing Infrastructure
GTN will handle execution, custody, and recordkeeping for securities behind xStocks tokens. These functions help connect tokenized products with the underlying shares. They also support the one-to-one asset backing model.
Whale Factor said xStocks is expanding toward Hong Kong, the UK, Europe, and South Korea. The account also pointed to 24/7 on-chain access and self-custody wallet use. However, market access will depend on approved product rules.

GTN connects to more than 90 global markets. Subject to approvals, it also plans to offer xStocks products to institutional clients. This could widen access beyond retail-focused tokenized equity platforms.

Tokenized Equity Race Grows
The xStocks expansion comes as competition in tokenized equities increases. Robinhood has expanded its tokenized stock plans, while Coinbase is also preparing stock tokens. DTCC, Nasdaq, and NYSE have also started tokenization-related projects.
Citi has estimated that tokenized securities could reach $5.5 trillion by 2030. That estimate includes $2.6 trillion in tokenized equities. These projections show why crypto firms and market firms are building related infrastructure.
Payward said xStocks has processed more than $35 billion in trading volume.
The platform also has nearly 200,000 holders, according to the company. The products remain unavailable to U.S. investors as regulatory questions continue.
