Stablecoin news is gaining fresh attention in Europe after Revolut launched EURR, a euro-backed stablecoin that gives its users a way to move between euros and crypto onchain. The rollout starts in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal.
Revolut Brings EURR Stablecoin To Its Customers
The latest Stablecoin news puts Revolut into a growing race for a bigger share of the European digital payments market. The fintech company has launched the EURR stablecoin as the first part of a wider plan to issue digital tokens linked to different currencies.
For now, EURR is available only to eligible Revolut customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. The company plans to expand its distribution across the European Economic Area later this year.
Revolut said EURR is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a subsidiary of Bridge. The token is designed to keep a value of €1 and is backed by reserves held by the issuer under applicable MiCA requirements.

Bridge was acquired by Stripe for $1.1 billion in February 2025. With the EURR stablecoin built into the Revolut app, eligible customers can hold the euro-denominated asset and move between euros and crypto. The token will also work across multiple blockchain networks and external wallets. That gives users more ways to move the asset outside the Revolut app.
For Revolut, the launch is more than a new crypto feature. The company sees EURR as the first step in a larger stablecoin plan that could include tokens linked to other currencies.
Stablecoin News Puts Revolut Against Circle
The launch adds another name to the European stablecoin market, where Circle has already built a strong position with EURC. Revolut is now looking to use its large customer base and existing financial services to push the EURR stablecoin.
Revolut has more than 40 million European customers, giving the company a broad base of users who could potentially access EURR through an app they already use. The company said its wider customer base stands at 80 million.
That reach could become important as stablecoins move beyond crypto trading and into payments and other financial services. Still, the EURR stablecoin is only in its early rollout, and the information provided does not include immediate volume data to show how quickly users are adopting it.
The company is also entering a market with established euro stablecoins and continued changes around digital money rules in Europe. As a result, the rollout will be closely watched as Revolut seeks to turn its existing customer base to its advantage.
The Stablecoin news also comes as Revolut continues to add crypto services to its wider platform. In July, the company connected its Revolut X crypto exchange with third-party AI assistants, including Claude, Gemini, OpenClaw, and Cursor.
EURR Stablecoin Marks Wider Revolut Crypto Push
The EURR stablecoin is part of a wider move by Revolut to bring crypto closer to its main financial services. The company has continued expanding its banking and digital asset operations in several markets.
In March, Revolut received approval from the UK Prudential Regulation Authority to launch Revolut Bank UK. Then, in June, its US chief executive told Reuters that the company planned to offer stablecoin services through its proposed US bank alongside traditional banking products.
That makes the EURR launch part of a wider stablecoin strategy rather than a one-off product. Revolut has already said that more currency-denominated tokens are planned.
For now, the key test is whether EURR can move beyond the initial markets and gain regular use among Revolut customers. The company is expected to expand across the European Economic Area later this year.
Still, as the European stablecoin market develops under MiCA rules, the EURR stablecoin gives Revolut a direct entry into a space where Circle and other issuers are already competing for users. The latest Stablecoin news shows that the race is no longer limited to crypto-native companies, with major financial platforms also looking to control how digital money moves across borders.
