- Privy announced on Tuesday that it is partnering with Ripple to bring its embedded wallets to the XRP Ledger.
- Developers will be able to create XRPL wallets, sign transactions and handle XRP, RLUSD and other ledger assets through Privy.
- Privy, a Stripe company, says users can export their keys and plans to add policy controls and gas sponsorship.
Stripe-owned wallet provider Privy has partnered with Ripple to let developers build XRP Ledger wallets directly into their apps, the company announced on Tuesday.
Developers will be able to create and manage the wallets through Privy and sign transactions with its infrastructure. The wallets will hold XRP, Ripple USD (RLUSD) and other assets issued on the ledger.
Privy’s server-side wallets can also hold funds for AI agents. Those agents will be able to pay through x402, a standard that lets software pay for a web service as part of the request.
RippleX senior vice president Markus Infanger said Privy’s wallets make it easier for fintechs and developers to put the XRP Ledger into real products. He named payments, stablecoin products and agentic commerce as uses.

Privy’s developer documentation shows the XRPL wallets use secp256k1 keys on a standard BIP-44 derivation path. An app builds each transaction, and Privy returns a signed blob ready to submit to the ledger.
A new wallet does not exist on the ledger until it receives the base reserve, currently 1 XRP. That means apps must fund each wallet before it can send anything.
Users can export a wallet’s raw private key or its BIP-39 seed phrase and move it elsewhere. That export does not cover the ledger’s native family-seed format.
Privy said it will add policy controls and gas sponsorship to the integration over time. Its September post on TRON listed gas sponsorship and x402 payments among features planned for that network.
Stripe’s Wallet Arm Expands
Stripe agreed to buy Privy in June 2025. Co-founder and chief executive Henri Stern said then that Privy powered more than 75 million accounts across more than 1,000 developer teams.
Stripe now uses Privy for the wallets behind AWS’s AgentCore payments for AI agents, alongside Coinbase. Stripe also owns stablecoin firm Bridge, which won conditional OCC approval for a national trust bank in February.
Privy puts the XRP Ledger at more than 8 million funded accounts and US$1 trillion (AU$1.43 trillion) moved over more than 14 years.
Ripple’s XRPL AI Starter Kit, released in June, included x402 payments in XRP and RLUSD. That integration came from infrastructure firm t54. It lets agents pay for APIs, computing and other services. Those payments settle in three to five seconds, according to Ripple.
On Coinbase’s Base network, x402 payments passed 100 million transactions by June, about nine months after launch.
