NVIDIA details city AI agents and digital twins across Europe

NVIDIA said European and EMEA cities are using its accelerated-computing stack to test AI agents and digital twins for urban operations, with pilots spanning public buildings, mobility, safety, ports and municipal services. The company’s Oct. 14, 2026 post said the effort is aimed at helping local authorities interpret video, simulate infrastructure changes and run AI systems locally rather than relying entirely on external cloud setups.

Evidence and context

According to NVIDIA’s post dated Oct. 14, 2026, software and integration partners including ABA Technology, Akila, Galene AI, Honeywell Technologies, K2K, Linker Vision, Milestone, Onetera, ThinkDeep and Younite are using NVIDIA physical and agentic AI tools for city operations and public services. The company said its Cosmos open models and the Metropolis Blueprint for video search and summarization are being used to interpret camera feeds and identify conditions such as congestion, equipment condition, underused spaces and safety hazards, while Nemotron models support natural-language reasoning and Omniverse libraries underpin digital twins.

The announcement names projects in Belgium, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and the U.K., but the post provides uneven detail on each initiative. In the U.K., K2K is said to be exploring AI factories for the Liverpool City Region, the Island of Jersey and Innovation City Belfast, with use cases including mobility, safety and event-response management. In France, the Department of Côte-d’Or, Akila and ThinkDeep said they built operations agents using sensor, infrastructure and historical data in a sovereign digital twin; NVIDIA said the system supports more than 500 public buildings and has cut document-search time from weeks to minutes, reduced total operating costs by 10% and is targeting 30% at scale. Those figures are vendor-reported outcomes in the announcement, not independently verified municipal performance data.

The post also says Port Sud de France in Sète is using ThinkDeep’s agentic platform to analyze cargo and safety data and guide hazardous-material handling. In Italy’s Milan region, Galene.AI, Dell Technologies and TD Synnex are deploying a locally operated AI factory that starts with Cinisello Balsamo and is planned to expand to four additional municipalities. NVIDIA said those services include real-time translation, citizen chatbots and help with procurement and funding, while keeping data under local governance. In Belgium, Port of Antwerp-Bruges is testing how agentic vision AI could support cases such as oil-spill warnings using synthetic data, and in Sweden, Younite is building a digital-twin experience for Gothenburg under the EU’s Citiverse initiative.

NVIDIA framed the work as part of a broader push to supply the infrastructure for local AI factories. It said Cisco, Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo and Supermicro are packaging accelerated computing, networking and storage for municipal deployments, while Nebius, Net Zero Compute, EY and Accenture are contributing infrastructure and integration support. The company also pointed readers to Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona on Nov. 3-5 as a forthcoming venue for more detail, making that the next dated catalyst mentioned in the source.

Outside the city-focused examples, NVIDIA said Honeywell Technologies is deploying Forge Cognition, powered by Nemotron, Cosmos, Omniverse and the Metropolis video-search blueprint, at the Dubai Fairmont Hotel to connect AI agents with building systems and improve reliability, energy efficiency and operations. As with the municipal examples, that description comes from NVIDIA’s own announcement and should be treated as company-reported positioning rather than independent validation of outcomes.
