There’s no word whether Freaky Nikki will show up, but Inde Navarette, the rising star who plays her in the horror movie blockbuster Obsession is set to host Saturday Night Live’s episode to cap off spooky season.
Navarette is one of the four stars that will host the first four episodes of the SNL’s 52nd season, NBC announced on Wednesday. The new season of SNL kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 26.
The actress, of course, is the breakout star of writer-director Curry Barker’s Obsession, which shocked both moviegoers and the movie industry after it opened on May 15. The film — about how music store employee Bear’s (Michael Johnston) wish to be loved by his co-worker, Nikki, goes horribly awry — made nearly $510 million at the worldwide box office against a $750,000 budget before marketing expenses.
Navarrette’s career has been on fire since then, with talk almost immediately about a potential Best Actress Oscar nomination, followed by her casting last month as Rogue in Disney and Marvel’s upcoming X-Men movie reboot. Then, on Sept. 3, news broke that Navarette will also star in the lead role of Jane in Apple Original Film’s upcoming sci-fi thriller The Waffle House Index.
Just as Navarette’s awards season campaign for Obsession gets underway, she will spend at least a week in New York to prepare for her hosting duties for SNL’s Halloween episode, which happens to fall this year on Saturday, Oct. 31. NBC announced that the musical guest for Navarette’s episode will be Gracie Abrams.
The episode will mark the first appearance for Navarrette and the second for Grammy nominee Abrams.

Who Else Is Hosting ‘SNL’ In September October?
NBC announced on Wednesday that New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, the Most Valuable Player of the 2026 NBA Finals, will make his debut as a Saturday Night Live host on the show’s season premiere on Sept. 26.
The global girl group sensation KATSEYE will make their SNL debut as the musical guest for the season premiere. KATSEYE is currently on the road supporting the group’s new EP WILD as part of their WILDWORLD tour.
Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy and Materialists star Dakota Johnson will make her third appearance as an SNL host on the second episode of the 52nd season of SNL on Oct. 3. Johnson will be appearing in support of her psychological thriller Verity— which also stars Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett — which will be released in theaters on Oct. 3.
The Grammy-winning hard rock group Turnstile will make their first appearance as a musical guest on Johnson’s episode. The band is currently on the road with their NEVER ENOUGH Tour Pt. 2,
Stand-up comedy sensation and Tires star Shane Gillis will return for his third SNL hosting gig on Oct. 10. Grammy-winning singer Rosalía, who just wrapped up her Lux tour, will be appearing as an SNL musical guest for the second time on Gillis’ episode.
NBC noted that SNL will take a two-week break after Gillis’ Oct. 10 episode and will return with Inde Navarrette and Gracie Abrams on Oct. 31.
