Solana is trying to build on its recent breakout as price continues to trade above the descending structure that controlled much of the July correction. In the short term, Solana price is trading near $75.75, down around 2.20% over the past 24 hours.

Solana Momentum Begins to Shift
SOL has begun to separate itself from other major cryptocurrencies after recovering from its lows and breaking through short-term resistance. Cold Blooded Shiller highlighted the move, noting that Solana appears to be among the first of the majors to show signs of momentum turning higher.
The chart shows the negative momentum that dominated the second half of July beginning to fade, while price has recovered towards the mid-$70s. The next challenge is whether buyers can extend that shift through $77-$78, which would give the current recovery more technical confirmation.

SOL Attempts to Establish a Higher Low
Another constructive signal is developing in Solana’s broader daily structure. A chart shared by Shardi shows SOL attempting to establish a higher low after the sharp June decline and subsequent recovery.
Price is holding around the $73-$75 region while RSI has also started to turn higher. If this higher low remains intact, SOL would have a stronger base to challenge the next moving-average resistance around $78-$80, followed by the larger resistance cluster above $82.

The bullish structure would weaken if price loses the recent low-$70 support area, as that would reopen the possibility of another test of the June recovery zone.
Liquidity Targeting Higher Levels
The derivatives market is also giving traders a clear short-term level to monitor. CW highlighted a large concentration of short positions around $79.50, after SOL had already moved through another high-leverage short zone.
That creates the possibility of additional upside acceleration if price pushes through the upper-$70s. A move into $79.50 could force more short positions to close, potentially helping SOL extend towards the psychological $80 level.

However, liquidity alone does not guarantee price will reach the level. SOL still needs to maintain the breakout and avoid slipping back below the $74-$75 region.
Solana Price Prediction Aiming $80
Trader Symba also highlighted Solana’s break above a descending trendline that had capped multiple recovery attempts since the June decline.
The chart places SOL around $77 following the breakout, with the immediate question now being whether price can return to $80. The previous July rebound stalled around $82-$83, making the $80-$83 region the most important resistance zone for the current move.

If SOL can establish itself above $80, the structure would begin shifting from a short-term breakout into a broader recovery. Rejection from this area, however, could send price back towards $75 before buyers attempt another push.
Record On-chain Activity Adds Fundamental Support
Solana’s price recovery is also arriving alongside stronger network activity. Gum highlighted that transaction activity has reached a new all-time high, with the chart showing weekly transactions rising above previous peaks.
This becomes particularly relevant alongside proposed changes to Solana’s inflation and burn mechanics. If those proposals pass, greater network usage could lead to more SOL being burned while reducing net supply growth, potentially strengthening the asset’s economics during periods of expanding activity.

Outlook: Can SOL Clear $80?
Solana has improved technically after breaking its descending resistance and attempting to establish a higher low. The immediate hurdle now sits around $77-$80, where both chart resistance and a large concentration of short liquidity are located.
- A push through $79.50-$80 could trigger short liquidations and open another test of $82-$84
- A stronger breakout above that zone may bring the $97-$100 region back into discussion
- On the downside, the $73-$75 area is now key for preserving the current recovery structure
- Holding above the breakout zone and reclaiming $80 would significantly strengthen the case for a broader Solana recovery phase
For now, SOL is showing early signs that momentum is turning, but the next confirmation needs to come from price itself.
