xAI’s latest AI model, Grok 4.6, is now available on Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform, according to an announcement on August 21, 2026. This move brings the advanced capabilities of Grok 4.6, which is tailored for long-running agents, coding tasks, and technical workflows, to a broader base of developers through Google’s Vertex Model Garden.
Grok 4.6 is the newest model in xAI’s Grok series, following the release of Grok 4.5 earlier this year. It offers a significant upgrade with a 500,000-token context window, enabling it to handle complex, long-form tasks such as interactive and visual work. Developers can configure reasoning efforts across four levels—low, medium, high, and extra high—providing flexibility for various use cases.

The model is competitively priced for enterprise and developer adoption:

- Cached Input: $0.30 per million tokens
- Output: $6 per million tokens
