XRP recorded 0.92 bullish comments for every bearish comment in Santiment’s October 13 reading, even as the token price fell more than 9% over the week and struggled to reclaim $1.40.

The ratio has improved from 0.67 at the start of October, but it remains below parity: bearish discussion still outweighs bullish commentary. Ethereum, by contrast, reached 2.05 bullish comments per bearish one.

Latest XRP price points to a $1.40 reclaim as social sentiment improves to 0.92, while Ethereum leads with a 2.05 bullish ratio. What's next?

That divergence points to a shift in online attention. XRP’s sentiment is less negative than it was at the start of the month, but Ethereum is the clear social favorite while XRP’s price remains under pressure.

XRP Reading is Improving, But Can Price Take the Advantage?

Santiment measured discussion across X, Reddit, and Telegram, finding 0.82 bullish comments per bearish comment for Bitcoin and 0.92 for XRP. Both ratios sit below 1.0, the point at which bullish and bearish comments would be equally numerous. Ethereum’s 2.05 reading reverses that relationship, with bullish commentary running at roughly twice the bearish count.

Santiment characterized Ethereum’s reading as FOMO territory. Its October 13 assessment connected the enthusiasm to ETH’s rebound above support, staking demand, and expectations for network improvements.

Santiment’s model classifies language in online messages as bullish, neutral, or bearish, using confidence thresholds to determine what enters its dataset. Those messages are not executed trades, and they do not establish whether large holders are accumulating or distributing.

Ethereum FOMO therefore provides a useful contrast, but not a price signal on its own. Crowded optimism can persist as prices rise, or unwind quickly if the underlying rebound falters. Likewise, an improvement in XRP’s ratio can indicate that pessimism is easing without establishing that a recovery has begun.

The $1.40 Remains XRP’s Near-Term Test

The immediate XRP price analysis remains tied to the $1.40 area. XRP had fallen more than 9% over the previous week, with the level proving difficult to reclaim as leveraged long positions were flushed. The sentiment ratio’s move toward parity has not yet removed that price resistance or the pressure implied by the weekly decline.

The positioning detail offers a possible explanation for the selloff, but it does not quantify how much forced selling remains or show that liquidation pressure has ended. A sustained move back above $1.40 would change the immediate technical picture; another failure there would leave the gap between improving social mood and weak price action unresolved.

Earlier network activity also needs to be read carefully. When XRP crossed $1.60 on September 22, there were 1,917 transactions worth at least $100,000 and 3,647 new wallets on the XRP Ledger.

Those figures show activity around the rally, but large transfers can reflect purchases, sales, or movements between wallets; neither the transaction count nor wallet additions alone establish directional demand.

The readings put the current cross-asset split in numerical terms. XRP and Bitcoin remain below parity, while Ethereum’s bullish-to-bearish ratio is well above it. For XRP, the change from 0.67 to 0.92 is evidence of a less bearish conversation, but the token has not yet crossed into a net bullish reading.
