BitMine Immersion Technologies acquired another 10,452 ETH over the past week, lifting its reported Ethereum holdings to 6,051,933 tokens, or approximately 4.95% of ETH’s total supply. The company also repurchased 2.04 million shares, continuing a dual strategy of expanding its crypto treasury while returning capital to shareholders.

BitMine Moves Closer to Its 5% Ethereum Treasury Target

BitMine’s latest update puts its ETH holdings above 6.05 million tokens, bringing the company closer to its stated goal of accumulating 5% of Ethereum’s supply. The company reported that its total crypto holdings, cash, marketable securities and other investments were worth approximately $15 billion. Its ETH accumulation gives investors indirect exposure to Ethereum through shares in a publicly traded company.

The strategy also concentrates BitMine’s financial performance around ETH’s market value. At 4.95% of the reported supply, its holdings are substantial, but their dollar value can change sharply as Ethereum’s price moves. BitMine’s previous treasury update reported more than 6.04 million ETH on October 19, illustrating the pace of its accumulation.

Ethereum Staking Adds Yield to BitMine’s Treasury Strategy

BitMine reported that 5.23 million ETH were staked, representing most of its holdings. Staking allows ETH holders to help secure Ethereum’s proof-of-stake network in exchange for potential rewards. For the company, those rewards provide a way to generate income from its treasury rather than relying exclusively on ETH price appreciation.

However, staking does not eliminate market risk. The value of the rewards and the underlying holdings can decline if ETH prices fall, while staking also involves operational and liquidity considerations.

Ethereum’s official staking guide explains how validators participate in network security and the responsibilities associated with staking. The company’s approach therefore combines exposure to ETH’s price with the potential benefits and risks of running a large staked position.

BitMine Repurchases 2.04 Million Shares in One Week

Alongside its ETH purchases, BitMine repurchased 2.04 million shares at an average price of $22.48. The company said its 2026 buybacks had reached 22.9 million shares, valued at approximately $399.6 million. The programme signals that the company is pursuing shareholder returns even as it continues to allocate substantial capital to Ethereum.

Buybacks can reduce the number of shares outstanding, potentially increasing each remaining share’s proportional claim on the company. Their benefit depends on the price paid, the company’s overall valuation and how its assets perform. For investors, the combination of share repurchases and ETH accumulation makes it important to assess both the company’s treasury value and its stock-market valuation.

ETH Price Weakness Tests BitMine’s Accumulation Strategy

Ethereum traded near $2,325 on October 26, according to historical market data. It had fallen from approximately $2,473 on October 21, a decline of nearly 6% over five days. This recent weakness highlights the risk of expanding a treasury concentrated in a volatile digital asset, even when the company continues buying.

The key question is whether staking income and additional purchases can offset the effect of price declines over time. The company’s growing holdings increase its exposure to Ethereum’s long-term prospects, but they also make its balance sheet more sensitive to market movements. Investors will need to monitor future treasury updates, ETH price performance and the company’s buyback pace to assess how effectively the strategy balances accumulation with shareholder value.
