- ADA market cap is up 42% since September 16, per Santiment.
- Whale transfers over $100,000 hit 413 in a day, highest since June.
- Cardano’s CIP-0113 programmable token standard is now live on mainnet.
Cardano’s ADA is attracting renewed attention as whale activity and social interest pick up, while the network reaches a major infrastructure milestone with the launch of its programmable token standard.
ADA Whale Activity Rises as Social Interest Returns
According to market intelligence platform Santiment, ADA’s market capitalization has risen 42% since September 16, with the token moving from around $0.19 to approximately $0.27.
In a post on X, Santiment said transactions worth at least $100,000 reached 413 in a single day, the highest level of whale activity since June 4.
At the same time, Cardano is once again becoming more visible among retail traders. Santiment reported that ADA’s social dominance reached 1.16%, its highest level of 2026, suggesting that Cardano’s previously quiet market phase may be changing.
Santiment Points to Several Catalysts
Santiment pointed to several developments that may be contributing to the increased interest, including the launch of RealFi on Cardano mainnet on October 1, anticipation around Leios, Fireblocks support and new institutional integrations.
“Fresh project developments are adding fuel,” the company said talking about catalysts that are helping to drive “Cardano’s biggest discussion spike of the year.”
Cardano Puts Programmable Tokens Live on Mainnet
Adding another layer to the story, the Cardano Foundation announced on October 7 that its CIP-0113 programmable token standard is now live on Cardano mainnet.
The standard allows issuers of stablecoins, tokenized funds, bonds and other regulated assets to build compliance rules directly into the token. Those rules can include KYC/AML requirements, sanctions screening, transfer restrictions, and freeze/seize functions.
The change makes Cardano infrastructure more suitable to support regulated assets, not just conventional cryptocurrency.
On the Flipside
- CIP-0113 does not directly create demand for ADA, nor does it mean that institutions will automatically start using Cardano.
Why This Matters
The key question going forward is whether this renewed market interest develops into sustained network activity and adoption. If it does, Cardano’s recent rally could prove to be more than another short-lived burst of altcoin momentum. For now, the data shows that both the market and the network are becoming noticeably more active.
