Grayscale has moved closer to launching a Zcash exchange-traded fund as DCG considers an investment. Grayscale filed an amendment with the SEC. The proposal would rename Zcash Trust and list shares on NYSE Arca under ZCSH.
Meanwhile, DCG International Investments Ltd. is discussing roughly 200,000 ZEC through the trust. At prices, that position would approach $110 million. However, the discussions remain nonbinding, allowing a smaller purchase or no investment.
ETF Plans Gain Momentum
Significantly, the transaction could increase Zcash attention and institutional access. Additionally, Grayscale disclosed details about the June Orchard vulnerability and Zcash’s Ironwood upgrade.
The upgrade retired the shielded pool and added protections against counterfeit tokens. Grayscale, in contrast, is continuing the expansion of its altcoin ETF lineup with Avalanche, Hyperliquid and Worldcoin among its latest additions.
ZEC Gains as Institutional Interest Grows
ZEC trades near $552.63, up 9.54% over 24 hours and 13.99% over seven days. As a result, it currently trades near $9.33 billion in market capitalization.
Beyond the ETF speculation, the DCG buy may also help fuel bullish sentiment. Therefore, investors can keep an eye on ETF movements and institutional demand.
