Sunrise, a platform built around trading tokenized stocks just posted its biggest week ever, and the top spot didn’t go to a stock at all.

I pulled up Blockworks Research’s Sunrise dashboard to see the breakdown myself, and the numbers tell a more interesting story than the “tokenized stocks are booming” headline suggests.

What Sunrise Actually Is

Sunrise is a Solana-based liquidity protocol initiated by Wormhole Labs, built to give tokenized assets a functioning market the moment they list rather than leaving them to sit in thin, illiquid pools. Its catalog spans tokenized US stocks, commodity-backed tokens, and canonical versions of already-established crypto assets bridged over through Wormhole, all trading on Solana with liquidity coordinated across multiple decentralized exchanges at once.

The project grew out of a partnership that began in June 2026 with Backpack Securities, starting with tokenized SpaceX shares timed to coincide with SpaceX’s own Nasdaq IPO. Each equity token on the platform is structured to be redeemable 1:1 for the underlying security, dividends included, which is what separates these from purely speculative wrapped assets. Since that first listing, the roster has grown well beyond stocks, and this past week’s numbers show exactly how far that expansion has gone.

A New Weekly Record, Just Shy Of $1 Billion

According to the live chart on Blockworks, Sunrise-issued tokens generated $977,623,148 in trading volume during the week of September 21 to 27, 2026, the tallest bar on the entire weekly chart since the protocol launched in October 2025.

That’s a new weekly all-time high, and looking at the shape of the chart, it isn’t a fluke spike sitting alone. The four weeks leading into this one already showed some of the highest bars on record, with the chart climbing in a clear, sustained way from a smaller cluster of activity back in April 2026 through to this new peak in late September.

I think the closeness to the $1 billion mark matters here. This is a platform that spent most of its first several months posting weekly volume in the tens of millions, based on the earlier bars on the chart. Getting to within $22.4 million of ten figures in a single week is a genuine step change, not a gradual drift upward.

The Top Three Assets Behind The Record

Breaking down where that $977.6 million actually came from, the leaderboard for the week is topped by HYPE, which alone generated $213.84 million, close to 22% of the entire week’s volume on its own. That’s a striking amount of concentration in a single asset, and it tells me a large chunk of this record week rode on demand for one specific token rather than broad-based activity across the whole catalog.

Second place goes to BP, with $127.80 million in weekly volume, a little more than half of HYPE’s total but still comfortably ahead of everything else on the list. Third place belongs to APE, at $47.51 million, essentially tied with COPX in fourth at $47.46 million, close enough that the two are practically neck and neck for that spot.

What strikes me looking at the full list is how varied it is. Beneath the top three, the leaderboard includes AVAX at $42.60 million, the tokenized SpaceX ticker SPCX at $37.66 million, DJT at $34.37 million, URA at $30.03 million, and Micron’s MU at $28.71 million, among others. Further down, DOGE brought in $25.88 million and IONQ added $22.02 million. Everything outside the top fifteen individually named assets is bundled into an “Other” category that still totals $242.45 million, itself larger than every single named asset except HYPE.

Why The Mix Matters More Than The Milestone

I’d read this breakdown as a signal about what’s actually fueling Sunrise’s growth right now. HYPE’s outsized share suggests a good portion of this record week came from speculative, crypto-native demand rather than from traditional-finance interest in owning tokenized shares of a public company. SPCX, the platform’s original flagship listing, ranks sixth on the week, a reminder that even the asset that built Sunrise’s reputation is now just one contributor among many rather than the dominant force it was at launch.

At the same time, the presence of names like AVAX and DOGE alongside stock tickers like MU and SNDK shows the platform has genuinely diversified beyond its original tokenized-equity pitch. Sunrise isn’t just a venue for trading stocks on-chain anymore; it’s become a broader liquidity hub where bridged crypto assets, commodity tokens, and equities all compete for the same trading volume in the same week.
